Brian J. Latour

PLATTSBURGH — Brian J. Latour, 41, of Stafford Road, died Tuesday evening, Oct. 19, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Plattsburgh on June 21, 1963, the son of Napoleon and Alice (Whitney) Latour II.

Mr. Latour worked in roofing construction in the northern New York area for many years, most recently for Latour Construction Company in Plattsburgh.

Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Burke; two sons, Brian J. Latour Jr. and William C. Latour, both of Peru; his parents, Napoleon C. and Alice Latour Jr.; two brothers, Roger Latour of Plattsburgh and Leon Latour and his wife Lisa of Hawaii; three sisters, Sheila Schongar of Saranac, Tina Foley and her husband Donald and Janice Latour, all of Plattsburgh; one granddaughter, Abriana Latour of Peru; and several nieces and nephews.

Two brothers, Napoleon C. Latour III and Scott Latour, both died earlier.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, followed by burial in the parish cemetery.

Richard H. "Dick" Janoski Sr.

Port Henry — Richard H. "Dick" Janoski Sr., 68, of Port Henry, and a former longtime resident of Florence, Vt., died suddenly Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004, while at work.

He was born on Oct. 16, 1936, in Proctor, Vt., the son of John and Marcella (Pelkey) Janoski.

He served with the U.S. Navy.

He was employed by J.P. Carrara & Son Concrete as a truck driver for many years and was working out of the Crown Point, N.Y., plant at the time of his death. He also drove truck for Dido Trucking in Florence and had a barber shop in Florence for many years.

Dick was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Mary DeFelice of Port Henry; one son, Richard Jr. of Rutland, Vt.; two daughters, Tina Janoski of Fair Haven, Vt., and Tammy Johnson and her husband Joseph of Leicester, Vt.; five grandsons; three stepsons, Richard, John and Robert DeFelice of Port Henry; one stepdaughter, Rebecca DeFelice of Port Henry; his mother-in-law, Katherine Wojcik of Port Henry; several stepgrandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Marion (Parrow) Janoski in 2001; one brother; and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at the Barnard Funeral Home, 3186 U.S. Route 7, Pittsford, Vt., where friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Committal services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Mary "Betty Millet" Hebert

Warners, N.Y. — Mary "Betty Millet" Hebert, 76, of Warners, N.Y., died Oct. 16, 2004, at her home.

She was born in Plattsburgh and moved to Syracuse in 1947. Her grandson, Chad Hebert, died in 1997. She was predeceased by her sisters, Theresa Cahill and Pat Adams; and her brother, Richard Millet.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Donald Hebert; sons Donald of Utica and Ronald, Rodney and James of Warners; daughter Dawn of Marcellus; sisters Barbara Bradt of Liverpool, Rita Zambito of Rochester, Jean Crisp of Tampa, Fla., Susan Millet of Cortland and Sandy Cerio of Cicero; brothers Robert Millett of Schuyler Falls, John Millet of Liverpool, Gerald Millet of Syracuse and Tom Millet of Minoa; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Land of Good Counsel Church in Warners and burial was held in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.

Dorothy I. Strazzeri

Albany — Dorothy I. Strazzeri, 76, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 12, 2004, at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland, N.Y.

She was born Nov. 12, 1927, in Churubusco, the daughter of the late Felix and Stella (Decosse) Trombly. She was also the stepdaughter of the late Clarence Geroux.

She was married to Harold Strazzeri. He predeceased her.

Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Strazzeri and son David, both of Albany; stepdaughter Mary Meyer of Voorheesville; granddaughter Holly (Tim) Caufield; grandson Kristopher Boice; sisters Jean Ryan of Merrill and Rita (John) Hall of Massena; brothers Chester Trombly of Massena, David Trombly of Buffalo and Robert Geroux of Ancram; a brother-in-law, Michael Francia of Massena; several aunts; cousins; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers Floyd, "Kem" (Clarence) Trombly and Ross Trombly; and sisters Luba Malloy and Irene Francia.

Calling hours were held at Daniel Keenan Funeral Home in Albany. Funeral services were in Holy Family Chapel in Fulton.

Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fulton in the family lot next to her husband.

FRANCES R. D’ANDREA, 92, of Prospect Avenue, Plattsburgh, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Italy on Nov. 25, 1911, the daughter of Vincent and Maria (Colacicco) D’Andrea.

Calling hours and funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.

The R.W. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Cristina J. Howerton, 35, of Clintonville Road, Peru, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004, at her home.

She was born in New Jersey, Dec. 18, 1968, the daughter of John E. and Nellie "Jane" (Williams) Vargas.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Good Shepard Church of the Nazarene in Keeseville with Pastor David Drake officiating. Burial will follow in the Harkness Cemetery.

John E. Prue, 79, of Alana Way, Plattsburgh, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in Lowell, Mass., on March 18, 1925, the son of Albert and Theresa (Quinn) Proulx.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A memorial Mass will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church.
