Published: 10/7/04Albert F. LaGoyAltona — Albert F. "Bert" LaGoy, 93, of Alder Bend Road, Ellenburg Depot, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Ellenburg Depot on May 5, 1911, the son of Henry and Heloise (LaFrennier) LaGoy Peryea. He was a farmer, woodsman, hunter and fisherman for many years. He is survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law, Leward LaGoy and Elizabeth and Richard and Rose LaGoy, both of Vernon, N.Y., Fred and Lucy LaGoy of Cadyville; a sister, Amelia E. Seguin Wilczak of Canandaigua, N.Y.; a daughter-in-law, Helen McNeil; and several nieces and nephews. His wife, Luva Seguin LaGoy, died Dec. 9, 1997; his parents; a son, Ronald LaGoy; and two brothers, William and Francis; and a sister, Lucille Coryea, also died earlier. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Friday from Holy Angels Church in Altona. Interment will be in the parish cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Altona Rescue Squad or charity of choice. Marge CluettePeru — Marge Cluette, 84, of North Bend Street, Peru, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, at the Fletcher Allen Healthcare Center in Burlington, Vt. She was born in Beekmantown, June 29, 1920, the daughter of James and Ella (Rivers) Merrihew. She graduated from Plattsburgh High School in 1938. She married the love of her life, Frank Cluette, in 1939, at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. He died Dec. 4, 1993. Marge was a telephone operator in Plattsburgh; she worked at the Peru Post Office, worked for the Clinton County Board of Elections and was a medical secretary for many years prior to retiring in 1990 from Dr. Sobol's office. She was a member and former officer of the Peru Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was the very best story teller in the North Country and also enjoyed cooking and gardening. She and Frank won many awards for their flowers. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Sharon Cluette of Plattsburgh; one daughter and son-in-law, Margot Cluette and Mark Duba of Burlington, Vt.; three grandchildren, Frank Cluette of Plattsburgh, Michael J. Cluette and his wife Jessica of Alabama, and Kelly Cluette of Queensbury; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her parents; and two brothers, Leroy and Donald Merrihew. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church in Peru with Rev. Peter Riani, pastor of St. Elizabeth's Church in Elizabethtown and St. Philip Neri Church in Westport, celebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Adirondack Humane Society, Inc., 134 Idaho Ave., Plattsburgh, NY 12903. Valeda T. LeClairQueensbury/Keeseville — Valeda T. LeClair, 93, a long time resident of Queensbury, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Plattsburgh, N.Y. Born on July 7, 1911, in Keeseville, N.Y., she was the daughter of Alfred H. and Georgiana (Frazier) Tellier. Valeda was a communicant of Our Lady of the Annunciation Church in Queensbury. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Valeda was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. LeClair, in 1998; a daughter, Roberta Fredenburg in 2003; brothers Homer Tellier, Herman Tellier and Arthur Tellier; and a sister, Geraldine Tellier. Survivors include her children, Constance Lacy and her husband Peter of Keeseville, Judith Earle and her husband Harold of Queensbury, Bernard LeClair and his wife Annette of Florida and her son-in-law, Ronald Fredenburg of Queensbury; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Gerard Tellier and wife Velma of Whitehall, Maurice Tellier and wife Linda of Peru, Ronald Tellier and wife Mary of Queensbury, Gladys Bombard of Keeseville, Joan Rock of Port Kent and Jan Warren of North Carolina. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church, Aviation Road, Queensbury. Burial will follow at Pine View Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 8, 2004, at Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Rd., Queensbury. Those who wish may send a remembrance in her memory to their favorite charity. Local arrangements are under the direction of Hamilton Funeral Home. Maureen B. MoquinCUMBERLAND HEAD — Maureen B. Moquin, 73, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Montreal, Quebec, on Oct. 2, 1931, the daughter of Leslie Ray and Alexina (Hall) Shapter. "Mo" was a legal secretary for Patent Attorneys in Montreal. Upon meeting her would-be husband Armand, skiing at St. Savoir, they eloped in 1951 to Reno, Nev., before he was shipped overseas to Korea. Upon his return, they lived in Del Rio, Texas, where she worked as a secretary for Judge Montague. They moved to Plattsburgh in 1955 after his enlisted time was up and she worked as a secretary for "Bird" at WPTZ. "Mo"' managed the Chateau Motel for 20 years while raising two daughters and later was a secretary for the base exchange manager at the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base until her retirement. She loved spending time with her family, boating, camping, skiing, traveling and gardening while her health allowed. She will be missed dearly. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Armand Moquin, of Plattsburgh; two daughters and sons-in-law, Leslie and Michael Saxby of Greenfield Center, N.Y., and Laurie and Eric Schulz of Lake Placid, N.Y., and two grandsons, Karl and Scott. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Larry Wayne Rine, 54, of Spaulding Drive, Plattsburgh, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Pennsylvania on April 26, 1950, son of William H. and Louise (Wertz) Rine. A memorial service will be held in Bethany, Pa. Arrangements with Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Pedro Santana, 63, of Allegheny Road, Morrisonville, passed away Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born April 29, 1941, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, the son of Juan G. and Ana (Serrano) Santana. Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. |
