Published: 9/27/04Noah James ClemonsSCHUYLER FALLS — Noah James Clemons, 2½ months old, of Route 22B in Schuyler Falls, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on July 10, 2004, the infant son of Benjamin D. Clemons and Sara J. Facteau. Survivors include his parents, of Schuyler Falls; his sister, Lia Jade Clemons of Schuyler Falls; his maternal grandparents, Linda Facteau of Black Brook and Timothy Facteau of Dannemora; paternal grandparents, Lee and Holly Clemons of Peru; maternal great-grandparents, James and Gertrude Wells of Peru and Andrew and Barbara Facteau of Saranac; paternal great-grandmothers, Mercedes Drown of Plattsburgh and Jeannine Clemons of Peru; three uncles and two aunts, Corey Facteau, John Clemons, Christy and Adam Conlon and Brooke Facteau; and many cousins and family. He was predeceased by his paternal great-grandfathers, John Drown and Donald Clemons. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Augustine’s Church in Peru with the Rev. William Reamer, chaplain at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Peru Nursery School at the Peru Community Church. Helen T. SpragueCHATEAUGAY — Helen T. Sprague of Chateaugay died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Plattsburgh, where she had been a patient since Sept. 13. She was born July 16, 1916 in Franklin Center, Quebec. She was the daughter of William G. and Grace (Stuart) Trainer. Helen graduated from Chateaugay High School in June 1933 and the Plattsburgh Normal School in May 1937. Following graduation she taught in Warrensburg Elementary School in Warrensburg. On June 28, 1938, Helen married John L. Sprague, son of Dr. L.P. and Maude Sprague, in Randolph, Vt. John predeceased her on April 17, 1978. She was also predeceased by three brothers, Stuart, Karl and Lauren Trainer, and two sister-in-laws, Gertrude and Mildred Trainer. Helen was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Women’s Council of Presbyterian Church, Frontier Chapter #203 of Easter Star, Franklin County Home Bureau and Earlville Guild. She assisted her husband with the Chateaugay Diary Retail Milk Business, Sandy Knoll Dairy Farm and Sprague Maple Syrup operation. Helen had a special love for her "fellowmen." She also enjoyed riding her Jet Ski, picking flowers on the side of the road, and hanging up on everyone when she was done talking. Surviving Helen and John are two sons and daughters-in-law, John "Jack" and Helen R. of Constable, Theodore "Ted" and Jennifer of Salisbury, N.H., and one sister-in-law, Myrtle Trainer Murray. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Amanda, Amber, Cheryl, Tammy, Daniel, Emily and Jessica Sprague; four great-grandchildren, Julia Mae, Cherilyn, Nicolas and Alexandra; several much loved nieces and nephews, Karl S., Billy, Elaine, Bev, Sue, Gail, Don, Lauren, Mark and Kim; and many great-nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Chateaugay Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Chateaugay Methodist Church with the Rev. Eleanor Bellows officiating. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery in Chateaugay. A reception will follow the service at the Chateaugay American Legion. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Chateaugay Fire and Rescue Department or to The Cancer Research Fund. Arrangements are with the Chateaugay Funeral Home. Paul A. VegaBALLSTON SPA — Paul V. Vega, 51, of Lilith Fair Street, Ballston Spa, died suddenly Sept. 25, 2004, at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany. He was born March 21, 1953, in Troy, N.Y., son of the late Valentine and Shirley (Meader) Vega. He was the husband of Linda M. Hebert, whom he married June 1, 1991. He was a graduate of Stillwater High School. He had been employed as a dispatcher for the Saratoga County Highway Department in Ballston Spa for over 19 years. Paul was an avid outdoor sportsman, especially hunting and fishing. Survivors in addition to his wife include, one brother, Alan (Sheila) Vega of North Andover, Mass.; one sister, Betsy Lee Judkins of Lake George, N.Y.; one uncle, Edward Vega of Stillwater; and one aunt, Isabel Hayner of Mechanicville; nieces and nephews, Briana Vega, Wendi Torkelson, Chad and Kyle Judkins, Andrew Mohr and Jillian Yarborough; and several cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Dr. Charles Woodman, pastor of Stillwater United Church, Stillwater, officiating. Relatives and friends may call from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Dunn Funeral Homes, Ine., 121 No. Hudson Ave., Stillwater, N.Y., 12170. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saratoga County ARC, 2907 Rt 9, Ballston Spa, NY 12020, in his memory. JACK P. FULTON, 82, of Andes, N.Y., died Friday, Sept. 24, 2004, at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid. Born in Binghamton on Aug. 8, 1922, he was the son of Henry and Edith (Pierpont) Fulton. Services will be held at the convenience of the family in Andes. LLOYD P. TAYLOR, 60, of 5667 Route 11, Burke, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004. Born in Fort Covington on Aug. 8, 1944, he was the son of the late Theodore and Marion (Slyman) Taylor. Calling hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. George’s Cemetery in Burke. SHERMAN L. CLODGO, 72, of Truman Avenue, Plattsburgh, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Keeseville on April 10, 1932, the son of Henry W. and Anna (Poland) Clodgo. There will be no public calling hours. The service will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Keeseville. A complete obituary will be in Tuesday’s newspaper. Arrangements are by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville. HAROLD FRENCH, 90, of Russell Street in Crown Point, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at Elizabethtown Community Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was born Nov. 16, 1913, to Edward and Anna (Perkins) French. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at a date to be announced. Arrangements are with the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. VERONICA LaGRAVE, formerly of Foundry Street, Chateaugay, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004 at Franklin County Nursing Home in Malone, where she had been a patient. Born in Farwell, Neb., she was the daughter of August and Leocardia (Pysczynski) Tesmer. Calling hours will be held at Chateaugay Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Patrick’s Church in Chateaugay. Burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Chateaugay. CURT M. BOWMAN, 50, of Smith Street, Dannemora, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born on March 28, 1954. Calling hours and funeral services are incomplete and will be announced by Brown Funeral Home in Cadyville. |
