David H. Deyo

KEENE, NY — David Harold Deyo, 61, of Route 9N in Keene, N.Y., died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004, at the Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington, Vt.

He was born on April 2, 1943, in Moriah, N.Y., the son of Harold and Cecelia (Sullivan) Deyo.

He graduated from Moriah School in 1961 and was an engineer with the New York State Department of Transportation for 37 years. He retired in 2001.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Linda Sheasby Deyo; and his two children, David R. Deyo and Kristy L. Deyo, who all reside in Keene. He also has two sisters, Carole Deyo and Doris Deyo; a mother-in-law, Virginia Sheasby; and a brother and sister-in law, Roy and Karen Sheasby; and several neices and nephews.

David will be remembered for his gentle good nature, his quick wit, his kindness and his love of all people of all ages and for the special pride he had in his two children.

A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. at the Keene Valley Congregational Church. A reception will immediately follow at the Baxter Mountain Tavern.

Donations in David's memory can be made to either the Keene or Keene Valley Fire Department/Ambulance Squad or to the Westport Animal Shelter.

Arangements are with the M.W. Marvion’s Son’s Funeral Home.

ARIETTA TREADWELL, 95, of Lake Placid, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004 at Uihlein Mercy Center.

She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on Nov. 6, 1908, the daughter of Van and Winifred (Campbell) Reynolds.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 2 p.m. Saturday at the Reiss Memorial Chapel in Uihlein Mercy Center. The Rev. Cote will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
