James E. Walch III

Lake Placid — James E. Walch III, 62, of Hyland Ave., Lake Placid, N.Y., died at his home on Sept. 10, 2004.

He was born in Troy, N.Y., Dec. 26, 1941, the son of James E. Walch Jr and Marion (Luther) Walch.

Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He attended Paul Smith's College and received an associate degree in hotel management. He worked in the hospitality industry for American Airlines in New York City. He moved to Lake Placid where he worked at Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge for several years and then worked at the Lake Placid Hilton Resort.

Jim's greatest loves were cooking, gardening and people. In his presence, flavors intensified, flowers revealed their treasures and friendships bloomed. When needed, he was always there. When he reached his time of need, the people whose lives he touched filled his home with love and gratitude. We will love him forever.

Jim was a member of the Knights of Columbus and very active in St. Agnes Church.

He is survived by his sister, Leslie Walch of Scottsdale, Ariz.

Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Bible vigil service will be held at the funeral home Sunday evening at 8:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered Monday, Sept. 13th, at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid. Burial will follow at the St. Agnes Cemetery.

Donna H. Drumm

Plattsburgh — Donna H. Drumm, 61, of Macomb Street, passed away Friday, Sept. 9, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Gouverneur, N.Y., on March 12, 1943, the daughter of Donald S. and Ruth (Hockey) Homer.

Donna received her bachelors degree from Syracuse University and her masters in counseling from Plattsburgh State University. She had worked for Upward Bound, JCEO and the Plattsburgh Housing Authority. Donna retired from the New York State Department of Labor after 20 years of service. She had been a county representative for the Democratic Party. She also served on the City of Plattsburgh Zoning Board of Appeals. She was a member of the Champlain Valley Sweet Adeline's for many years.

She is survived by two sons, Derek Drumm of Plattsburgh and John Drumm and his wife Julie of Plattsburgh; a grandson, Gregory; a granddaughter, Lindsey; and her former husband, Clark of Schenectady.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.

A reception and celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Barracks Golf Course Club House at the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base.

Friends wishing may make donations to the FitzPatrick Cancer Center.

Donald J. Kerrigan, 49, of Scarborough, Maine, died Sept. 9, 2004, at his residence.

He was born in Key West, Fla., on Aug. 25, 1955, the son of the late Donald Joseph Kerrigan and Constance O’Brien.

A memorial service to honor Don’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 14th, at the United Methodist Church, Cape Elizabeth, Maine.
