Published: 10/30/04Edward H. BulrissMooers — Edward H. Bulriss, 78, of Mooers, went to be with God on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Eddie was born on Jan. 13, 1926, the son of Felix and Eva (Perry) BuIriss. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Beverly (Watts) BuIriss; his children, Michael and Sue BuIriss of San Antonio, Texas, Sue and Rudy Miller of Mooers Forks, Sharon Duchaine and Bruce and Crystal BuIriss of Mooers. His grandchildren include Michael BuIriss Jr., Melissa St. Clair, Megan Miller, Keith BuIriss, Anthony BuIriss, Heather Duchaine and Heath Duchaine. He was the proud great-grandfather of Cameron, Cody, Kyle, Keenan and Saya. He is also survived by brothers Reginald and Janice BuIriss and Stephen and Connie BuIriss; sister Genevieve and Ron Ward; and sister-in-law Evelyn BuIriss. He was predeceased by his brothers Ernest and Roger BuIriss; and sister Elaine Fitzpatrick. Eddie was a farmer for over 50 years. He also had a number of business ventures including BuIriss Oil and BuIriss Excavating and was a bus driver for N.C.C.S. for 32 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Mooers and was an active member of the Monsignor A.M. Gilbert Council 6136 Knights of Columbus and was a past grand knight. Eddie was also a charter member of the Mooers Volunteer Fire Department and was a past chief. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers. Members of the Mooers Fire Department will meet at 7:15 p.m. and the Knights of Columbus will meet at 7:30 p.m. for services. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday from St. Joseph's Church in Mooers. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. A reception at the Mooers Fire Station and Town Hall will follow the services. Memorial donations may be made to the Mooers Volunteer Fire Department. Samuel J. King Jr.Ellenburg Center — Samuel J. King Jr., 72, of Ellenburg Center, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Altona on Sept. 17, 1931, the son of Samuel J. and Emma (Peryea) King. He graduated from Dannemora High School and served in the Army during the Korean War. He was employed by Harris Graphics in Champlain for many years and also for The Town of Ellenburg and Ellenburg Oil in Ellenburg Center. He was a member of St. Edmund's Church. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carmel (Tourville) King; a son, Rick and his wife Beth Ann King of Plattsburgh; three daughters, Sheryl and her husband Mike McNeil of Ellenburg Depot, Carla and her husband Ross McComb of Mooers Forks and Lisa King of Ellenburg Center; a brother, James King and his wife Mary of Cadyville; a sister, Flossie Green and husband Jim of Chazy Lake; his grandchildren, Jessica, Stacey and Erin King, Kelley McNeil, Carrie McComb and Cassie King; and a great-granddaughter, McKenna King. He was predeceased by his parents, Sam and Emma King; and two grandchildren, Charity and Heath. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday from St. Edmund’s Church in Ellenburg. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Ellenburg Center. Memorial donations may be made to the Ellenburg Fire Department or the Wade-Hastings Dialysis Unit, 22 Fourth St., Malone, NY 12953. The E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot is in charge of arrangements. Hazel M. Strack, 84, a long-time resident of the area, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt. Born in Black Brook, N.Y., on Jan. 2, 1920, she was the daughter of Vivian and Delia (Pellerin) Minnie. Visitation will be held at Fortune - Keough Funeral Home on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. A Bible vigil will be held 7:30 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. John's Church in Lake Clear. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Lake Clear. Robert P. Vincent, 73, of Johnson Avenue, Lake Placid, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, N.Y. He was born in Saranac Lake, N.Y., on Oct. 15, 1930, the son of Henry and Mary (French) Vincent. Friends are invited to call at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid on Friday, Sept. 10th, from 6 to 9 p.m. An American Legion prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. and a Bible vigil be held at 8:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11th, at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid. Rev. Patrick O'Reilly will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery. Susan "Sue" Paul, 55, of Holland, Ind., formerly of Chazy Lake, N.Y., died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004. Arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced by the family at a later date. |
