Marion E. (Root) Sacco

Ticonderoga — Marion E. (Root) Sacco, 83, formerly of St. Clair Street, passed away Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at the Moses-Ludington Nursing Home of Ticonderoga.

She was born in Whitehall, Oct. 8, 1920, the daughter of the late Emerson and Sarah (Lee) Root.

Mrs. Sacco was born and raised in Whitehall, N.Y., and was a graduate of Whitehall High School, Class of 1939. She moved to Ticonderoga in 1952.

Along with her husband, Andrew J. Sacco, she owned and operated the Cook and Sacco Clothing Store of Ticonderoga for many years until their retirement in 1987.

She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew J. Sacco, on Dec. 23, 1997.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Lee Rich and Judy Ann Davis, both of Ticonderoga; six grandchildren, Shannon Davis and his wife Heather of South Glens Falls, Samantha Davis of Ticonderoga, Scott Davis of Ticonderoga, Michael Rich and his wife Nancy of Spring Hill, Fla., Eric Rich and his wife Nancy Jo of Ticonderoga and Terri Lee Perkins and her husband Greg of Ticonderoga. She is also survived by nine great - grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ticonderoga. The Rev. William G. Muench, pastor, will officiate.

The Rite of Committal will follow at the family plot of the Valley View Cemetery of Ticonderoga.

Donations in her memory may be made to St. Mary's School, Amherst Avenue, Ticonderoga, NY 12883.

Elsie R. "Tootsie" Ewing

Plattsburgh — Mrs. Elsie R. "Tootsie" Ewing, 93, of Monty Street, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center with her family at her side.

She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Feb. 10, 1911, the daughter of Matthew and Matilda (McDonald) Twining. Tootsie was a graduate of Our Lady of Victory Academy and she had worked at the Old Clinton County Nursing Home. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church.

Tootsie was predeceased by her parents; her husband Henry "Lucky" Ewing; a son, Robert Ewing; and a brother, Noble "Bud" Twining.

She is survived by a son, Ronald W. Ewing of Plattsburgh; a daughter-in-law, Diane Ewing of Plattsburgh; a foster son, David Mesic of Plattsburgh; two sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Fitzgerald of Plattsburgh and Dorothy "Dot" Siddon of Keeseville; a grandson, Scott Ewing and his fiancée Susie Paiser of Plattsburgh; a niece, Sheila Siddon of Keeseville; and two nephews, Wayne Twining of Valcour and Rick Siddon of Peru.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at 10 a.m. from Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh. Burial followed in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Vryling Corscaden Roussin

Keene Valley — Vryling Corscaden Roussin, 59, passed away at her home on Aug. 6, 2004, after a long and valiant struggle with cancer. Vry was born Sept. 2, 1944, and was raised in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y. She attended Solebury School in New Hope, Pa., and the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore, Md.

Vry, a well-known artist in the Adirondacks and New York City, had her own gallery, Corscaden Arts, in Keene Valley, N.Y., where she exhibited her work as well as that of many other artists, from young children to established professionals.

Vry was predeceased by her mother, Vryling Dunham Corscaden and her father, James Albert Corscaden.

She is survived by her son, Andre Roussin and his fiancée, Kelly Galey; her sisters, Martha Corscaden and Carolyn Galbraith; her partner, John Hudson; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She will also be missed by a large community of close friends and colleagues.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Vry Roussin Art Scholarship Fund at Keene Central School, P.O. Box 67, Keene Valley, NY 12943 or to High Peaks Hospice. P.O. Box 195, Mineville, NY 12956.

A funeral service will be held at the Keene Valley Congregational Church on Monday, Aug. 9th, at 2 p.m., with a reception to follow at her sister Carolyn's house on Beer Bridge Way. The art gallery will be open during the reception.

W.M. Marvins Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown is in charge of arrangements.
