Published: 8/5/04Paul TitheringtonPlattsburgh — Paul Titherington, 44, of Cumberland Head Road, Plattsburgh, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Liverpool, England, on Jan. 17, 1960, son of Geoffrey and Winifred (Wright) Titherington. Paul was president of Mold Rite Plastics and co-owner of Geoffrey's Pub and Treadwell Bay Marina and Resort. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing, traveling, spending time with his family and his faithful German Shepard, Ischka. Paul was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Plattsburgh Lodge 621 and The Barracks Golf Club. He was predeceased by his uncles Peter Derek Titherington and William "Bill" Titherington; his father-in- law, William "Bill" Higgins; and Mr. Al Piafsky, who was like a grandfather to him. Paul is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kim (Higgins) Titherington of Plattsburgh; his daughters, Sarah, Lori, Lisa and Katie, all of Plattsburgh; his father, Geoffrey Titherington of Plattsburgh; his mother, Winifred Burns and her husband Maurice of Plattsburgh; a sister, Diane McCarty and her husband Patrick of Plattsburgh; two brothers, Jeff Titherington of Plattsburgh and Gary Titherington and his wife Karen of Plattsburgh; his mother-in-law, Marie Higgins of Plattsburgh; his sister-in-law, Kerry Bushey and her husband Dan of Plattsburgh; two brothers-in-law, Michael Higgins and his wife Sharyl of Sacketts Harbor, N.Y., and Marty Higgins of Boston, Mass.; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle and cousins also survive him. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. John Sorensen, Rector officiating. Friends wishing may make donations to the Northeast Chapter of the American Heart Association. Suzanne M. WilberFulton, N.Y. — Suzanne M. Wilber, 75, of West 4th Street, Fulton, N.Y., died at University Hospital in Syracuse on July 23, 2004. She was born on Staten Island, N.Y., and graduated from Keene Valley High School in 1946 and Oswego State in 1950. Sue had been a beloved and respected school teacher for over 30 years in the Fulton and Phoenix, N.Y., school systems. She is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Wilber; a son, Frederick Wilber; sister, Lorie Gregory; brother, Paul Martin; grandson, Michael Korpan, all of Keene Valley; granddaughters, Kara K. Mehrman of Dayton, Ohio, and Alexandria Wilber of Tampa, Fla. Sue was predeceased by a daughter, Robyn W. Korpan; and a sister, Joan M. Downing. A private memorial service will take place in the fall. Memorial donations may be made to your local A.S.P.C.A. or animal shelter in Sue’s name. Charles Benjamin Fink Jr.PONCA CITY, OKLA. — Charles Benjamin Fink Jr., of Ponca City , Okla., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, unexpectedly at his home. He was born March 24, 1969 the son of Charles and Patricia Fink of Cadyville, N.Y., and Diane and Bill Gallagher of Ponca City, Okla. Besides his parents, he leaves behind his wife, Norma of Ponca City, Okla.; two sons, Melvin and Colby, also of Ponca City; two aunts, Phyllis Kelly and Edina Wallace, both of Plattsburgh; brothers, John and David Fink of Ponca City, Okla., Robert Comstock of Watertown, N.Y., Willy Comstock of Williams, Calif.; sisters, Belinda Fink of Ponca City, Okla., Lucy Defayette of West Chazy, N.Y., Norma Hill of Cadyville, N.Y., Patti Owens of Williams, Calif., and Cora Bill of Culsa, Calif.; He also leaves many cousins; nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Ponca City, Okla., on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004. Datus R. DubrayChazy Lake — Datus R. Dubray, 84, of Chazy Lake, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born at Chazy Lake on Dec. 22, 1919, the son of Joseph and Lizzy (Couture) Dubray. He was employed as a plumber and steamfitter for 26 years at the Clinton Correctional Facility Annex. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora and was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Four brothers, Richard, Walter, Israel and Foster Dubray; and seven sisters, Margaret, May and Genevieve Dubray, Bell Racette, Catherine Varin, Elsie Morrow and Mildred Ryan, all died before him. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday from St. Joseph's Church in Dannemora. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country. Jacob E. McIntyrePutnam Station — Jacob E. McIntyre, 1, of Putnam Station, passed away with his grandfather, Richard E. McIntyre, as a result of an automobile accident on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, in Hebron, NY. Born in Glens Falls, Aug. 27, 2002, he was the son of Christopher R. Purdue and Beth Marie McIntyre. Jacob lived at the McIntyre family homestead and was the center of the McIntyre family. With his fun-loving personality, Jacob lit up the lives of all who knew him. Survivors in addition to his parents, Christopher R. Purdue and Beth Marie McIntyre include his maternal grandmother, Jean McIntyre of Putnam Station; his paternal grandparents, Richard R. and Susan E. Purdue of Lake George; his great-grandmother, Myrtle M. McIntyre of Putnam Station; his great-grandfather, Richard B. Purdue of Indian Lake; and his great-grandmother, Elizabeth Scalero of Warrensburg. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. A funeral service will take place Friday at 11 a.m. at the Putnam United Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Sharon Weber, pastor, and the Rev. Floyd Freed will officiate. Interment will follow at the family plot of the Meadow Knoll Cemetery of Putnam Station. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home of Ticonderoga. Richard E. McIntyrePutnam Station — Richard E. McIntyre, 58, of Putnam Station, passed away with his grandson, Jacob, as a result of an automobile accident on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, in Hebron, N.Y. Born in Ticonderoga, April 12, 1946, Richard was the son of Myrtle M. (Mecure) McIntyre of Putnam Station and the late J. Edward "Ned" McIntyre. Mr. McIntyre was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post 224 of Ticonderoga. He was a lifelong resident and self-employed dairy farmer in Putnam Station. He was a member of the Putnam United Presbyterian Church, the Putnam Grange and served on the board of assessors in Putnam Station. He was also a member of the Dairy Lea Co-op and Agway. Mr. McIntyre was a devoted grandfather. Survivors in addition to his mother, Myrtle M. (Mecure) McIntyre of Putnam Station include his wife, Jean (Murphy) McIntyre; one daughter, Beth Marie McIntyre of Putnam Station; four sons, Timothy E. McIntyre and Jonathan P. McIntyre, both of Putnam Station, Bradley A. Upton of Benicia, Calif., and Glen Upton of Ohio; two brothers, James R. McIntyre of Putnam Station and Peter F. McIntyre of Virginia Beach, Va.; one sister, Sharon A. Burnett of Putnam Station; and five grandchildren. A funeral service will take place Friday at 11 a.m. at the Putnam United Presbyterian Church. Ashline, 91, of Willsboro, died at CVPH Medical Center Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004. She was born in Chazy Lake Aug. 2, 1913, the daughter of David and Anna (St. Germain) Taylor. She was a member of St. Philip of Jesus Church, a 51 year member of The Catholic Daughters Court St. Joan of Arc, The Altar Rosary Society and the Willsboro Bridge Club. She was a partner with her husband in the Ashline Fruit Co. and was their accountant. Survivors include her children, David and Marilyn Ashline of Willsboro, Wayne and Yvonne Ashline of Lewis, Harold Ashline of Pennsylvania, former daughter-in-law, Linda Bond of Plattsburgh, Robert Ashline and fiancee Karen Mason of Willsboro, Audrey and Steven Svec of Chillicothe, Mo., Elizabeth and Stuart Frum of Peru; a sister, Mildred Lobdell of Willsboro; over 25 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Charles in 1985; a son, Gregory Allen in 1972; and two grandsons, Keith in 1994 and Christopher in 1991. Calling hours will be held at the Huestis Funeral Home, Willsboro, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Catholic Daughters will meet at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Philip of Jesus Church, Main Street, Willsboro. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials in her name may be made to the Willsboro/Reber Rescue Squad or a charity of your choice. Theresa B. Schappaugh, 72, of Havana, died at 11:50 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2004, at her residence. She was born Oct. 3, 1931, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., to John and Veronica Brockney Sweeney. Services were held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Havana at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Scott. Englebrecht officiated. Burial was in St. Frederick's Cemetery in Manito. Mass Funeral Home in Manito was in charge of arrangements. Kathleen McDonald, 80, of Catherine Street, Malone, N.Y., died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at the Erie County Nursing Home in Buffalo, N.Y. She was born in Malone, May 4, 1924, the daughter of the late Edgar and Anna Mae Campbell McDonald. Calling hours will be Friday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at St. John Bosco Church, in Malone. Burial will be in St. John Bosco Cernetery. Susanne J. Sample, 58, of Champlain, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, in Champlain. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain. |
