Lawane May McKeown

Ticonderoga — Lawane (Pudie) May McKeown, 81, of Ticonderoga, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2004, at the Moses-Ludington Hospital of Ticonderoga.

Born in Ticonderoga, April 16, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Libbie E. (Harris) O'Dell.

Mrs. McKeown was a lifelong resident of Ticonderoga. She devoted many years to local families helping to care for their children in their homes.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ticonderoga and was a member of the American Legion Post 224 Ladies Auxiliary of Ticonderoga for many years.

Mrs. McKeown especially loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and children.

She was predeceased by her husband, Dennis McKeown in 1971, She was also predeceased by three brothers and one sister, Charles O'Dell, Elsie Granger and her twin brothers, Richard O'Dell and George O'Dell.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas G. McKeown and his wife Sharon of Ticonderoga and Dennis C. McKeown Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Albany; one daughter, Edie M. LaFrance and her husband Darrell of Ticonderoga: two brothers, Gordon O'Dell of Pennsylvania and Dewey O'Dell of Connecticut; and three sisters, Rosemary Smith of Ticonderoga, Hilda Hamel of Vermont and JoAnn White of Ticonderoga. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; ten great-grand-children; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin Street, Ticonderoga. A funeral service will follow at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. The Rev. Prudence Bertolino, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Ticonderoga, will officiate. Interment will take place on Friday at 1 p.m. at the family plot of the Mt. Hope Cemetery of Ticonderoga.

Joan Leslie Trombly

Burlington, VT — Joan Leslie Trombly, 49, died of stomach cancer on July 21, 2004, at her home in Burlington, Vt., with her family by her side.

Joan was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on March 8, 1955, the daughter of Hersey and Eleanor (Reid) Trombly.

Joan graduated from Chazy Central Rural School in 1973 and received her bachelor of arts degree Magna Cum Laude from SUNY Buffalo in 1979. She majored in Anthropology and Philosophy as an undergraduate and was delighted to live in Egypt for a semester. After graduation Joan became a licensed stock broker with Dean Witter Reynolds and continued her business studies, earning a masters degree in Business Administration from SUNY Buffalo in 1993, graduating Suma Cum Laude. Her most recent position was branch administrator at Smith Barney in Portland, Maine.

Joan took great satisfaction in nature and outdoor activities. She especially enjoyed being at the water's edge. She ran marathons, hiked, camped, biked, skied, sailed and roller bladed. She was an avid amateur photographer. Joan showed much courage and independence in her life, yet her family knew her generous and loving heart.

Joan is survived by her mother, Eleanor Trombly; her father Hersey Trombly; and eight siblings and their spouses, Mary and Richard Ducharme of Hemmingford, Quebec, Alan and Eunice Trombly of Chazy, N.Y., Lynn Wheeler and Gary Arrington of Columbia, Md., Neil and Ellen Trombly of Eau Claire, Wis., Rhonda and David Daley of Chazy, N.Y., Janice and Ken Rabideau of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Cheryl and Bill Weber of West Chazy, N.Y. Joan's life was also enriched by 25 nieces and nephews; 11 grandnieces and nephews; and many friends.

Joan was predeceased by her brother, Michael Trombly who died in 1988.

A memorial Mass will be held at Saint Mary's of the Lake on Cumberland Head at a future date to be announced. Following the Mass there will be a memorial gathering to celebrate Joan's life at the log home of Alan and Eunice Trombly, 201 Dunn Road in Chazy, N.Y.

Irene Lancto, of Plattsburgh and formerly of Chateaugay, died Monday, July 26, 2004, at the Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Chateaugay on March 11, 1909, daughter of the late George and Alzeda (LaCount) Ploof.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Shon Lilledahl, 68, of Trout River Road, Burke, N.Y., died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center.

He was born in St. Paul, Minn., on Jan. 13, 1936, the son of Ray and Carolyn Lilledahl.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel.

Viviann Nason, 48, of Helen Street, Saranac Lake, died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born in Saranac Lake, N.Y., on Aug. 25, 1955, she was the daughter of Richard and Mary (McCormick) Nelson.

There will be no calling hours or funeral services. The Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake is in charge of arrangements.
