Published: 10/30/04Victor J. CoolidgeOcean View, Del. — Victor J. Coolidge, 74, of Ocean View, Del., died July 15, 2004, at his home in the presence of his family and friends. He was born in Jay, N.Y., the son of the late Frank and Marie Coolidge. He was the owner and operator of a Steele Erecting Company in Bucks County, Pa., and member of the Twelve Keys Club in Bristol, Pa., before retiring to Ocean View, Del., in 1987 to grow organic produce. He was a friend of Bill W. for 28 years. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bethany Beach, Del., Lions Club in Yardley, Pa., and the Eastern Builders Association. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Coolidge. Victor is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sybil Coolidge of Ocean View; his son, Michael Coolidge of Ocean View; daughter, Mary Clemens of Ocean View; four grandchildren, Kenny Coolidge, Billy, Lacey and Julie Clemens, all of Ocean View; a sister-in-law, Beatrice Ryan of Washington's Crossing, Pa., and her children, Charles, David, Bill, Kate and Danny; and six sisters, Myrtle Jones and Rita McCabe, both of Florida, Frances Gill of New York, Rose Murray, Theresa Hahn and MaryLou Coolidge, all of California. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Tuesday, July 20th, at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, Del. Friends and family may call on Monday, July 19th, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bethany Chapel of Melson Funeral Services on West Avenue in Ocean View, Del. Interment will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, Del. A luncheon will be held at the church following the services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of your choice. Joan (Connelly) LaBombardNEW PORT RICHEY, FLA. — Joan (Connelly) LaBombard of New Port Richey, Fla., died Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at Tampa General Hospital. She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., and moved to Florida in 2003 from Champlain, N.Y. She was a retired laboratory custodian for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. Survivors include her husband Clifton (Cliff) of New Port Richey; her mother, Mable (Mott) Abare and stepfather Fred Abare; and one sister, Audrey Snow of Largo, Fla.; one daughter, Ann Marie Sterling and her companion James Gilman of Rouses Point, N.Y.; four sons, all in the U.S. Air Force, Mark S. Connelly and his wife Cindy stationed at Andrews AFB, Md., William A. Connelly Jr. and his wife Lesley stationed in Qatar, John P. Connelly and his wife Sherry stationed at MacDill AFB, Tampa, Fla., and Michael J. Connelly and his wife Darcy stationed at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas; two stepdaughters, Pamela Sanders of New Port Richey, Fla., and Paula Meetze of Irmo, S.C.; three stepsons, Robert LaBombard of Lexington, S.C., and Gary LaBombard and Mark LaBombard of New Port Richey, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Mott. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 24, 2004, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Champlain, N.Y. "Mitch" Mitchell, 53, of 71 Bean Rd., Malone, N.Y., died unexpectedly Thursday, July 15, 2004, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, Vt. He had been transferred from the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, N.Y., after being stricken at his home on Wednesday afternoon. He was born in Malone on Sept. 7, 1950, the son of the late Robert and Arlie (Lobdell) Mitchell. Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. The Malone Amvets will conduct a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Monday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church in Malone, with Monsignor Dennis Duprey officiating. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. |
