Published: 7/12/04Sheryl A. WrayCHAZY — Mrs. Sheryl A. Wray, 49, of Route 9, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2004, at Meadowbrook Health Care Facility. She was born in Plattsburgh on Nov. 19, 1954, the daughter of Frank and Doris (Giroux) Richards. She enjoyed arts and crafts and collecting Indian artifacts and dolls. Sheryl had received her degree in cosmetology. She worked at Champlain Laundry, Delagar Products and most recently, Amav. Sheryl was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Wayne Richards, and a brother-in-law, Maynard "Bucky" Lafountain, and her adoptive parents, Ernest and Pearl Boulrice. Sheryl is survived by her husband of 32 years, Richard C. Wray, of Chazy, her mother-in-law, Toni Wray, of Altona; her children, Brandy Dean, of McGuire Air Force Base, N.J., Ricky Wray and his wife, Nicki, of Mooers Forks, Brandon Wray of Chazy; her brothers, Roger and Betsy Richards of Lake Placid, Frank Richards Jr. of Mooers, Ricky Richards of Buffalo, Gary Boulrice of Canton, Robert Boulrice and his wife, Debbie, Michael Wray of Altona; her sisters, Diane Smith and her husband, Charles, of Plattsburgh, Joan Crabtree and her husband, Obal, of Sanford, N.C., Paulette Ambrosio and her husband, Joseph, of Plattsburgh, Barbara Hebert of Altona, Wanda Lafountain of Altona; two sisters-in-law, Jane Richards of Peru, and Carol Gendreau and her husband Robert, of Altona; and four grandchildren, Zachary and Hunter Wray, Zierra and Knight Dean. Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive her. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Altona. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. from Holy Angels Church, Altona. Following cremation, interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Plattsburgh. John Gill ScozzafavaPOTOMAC, Md. — John Gill Scozzafava, CPA, RIA, passed away July 8, 2004, at his home in Potomac, Md., at the age of 72. He was born April 30, 1932, in Albany, N.Y., the son of John F. and Kathryn Gill Scozzafava of Port Henry. John graduated from Port Henry High School at the age of 16 and attended Seton Hall. He received degrees from both Holy Cross and the University of Maryland. Mr. Scozzafava was a certified public accountant and a registered investment advisor. He was a partner with M.B. Hariton Col, which later became Laventhol & Horwath, and a partner with Councilor, Buchanan & Mithcell, P.C. The last few years he was a consultant with Homes, Lowry, Horn & Johnson, LTD. John was one of three original founds of Our Lady of the Woods Academy in Bethesda, Md., now known as the Woods Academy, a Catholic, independent , co-educational day school. John was an avid golfer and a member of Congressional Country Club. He was also a member of the Rotary and attended Our Lady of Mercy Church. John’s true love was his family: his son, John Coney Scozzafava, his daughter, Kathryn Rose Scozzafava, and especially his beloved wife of 39 years, Rose Taranto Scozzafava. He is also survived by his sister, Karen and William Kennedy of Enfield, Conn.; brother, Jim and Cheryl of Port Henry; and his sister-in-law, Joanne Taranto Baker of Norwich. Friends will be received at Pumphrey’s Colonial Funeral Home, 300 West Montgomery Avenue (Route 28, just off I-270, Exit 6A) Rockville, Md., from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at the chapel of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 92000 Kentsdale Drive, Potomac, MD 20854, on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Gertrude P. LangevinCHAZY — Gertrude P. Langevin, 84, of Chazy, died Sunday, July 11, at CVPH Medical Center. She was born on Jan. 5, 1920, in Champlain, the daughter of Joseph and Angeline (Dupie) Ives. She attended local schools and was married to Armand Langevin. He predeceased her Dec. 16, 1975. Surviving are two sons, James and Leo Langevin, both of Chazy; two brothers, Elmer Ives of Champlain and Merrill Ives of Rouses Point; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by one brother, Albert Ives, and one sister, Irene Cook. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Chazy, Altar Rosary Society, Auxiliary member of Chazy Fire Department and Beekmantown Senior Citizens. Calling hours will be today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at M.B. Clark Funeral Home, 196 Elm St. in Champlain. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Chazy at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Chazy Volunteer Fire Department. Arrangements are with M.B. Clark Funeral Home in Champlain. MARY A. LaMOY, 99, a resident of Saranac Village at Will Rogers, died peacefully at her home on Sunday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Glens Falls. There will be no calling hours. The Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake is in charge of funeral arrangements. DANIEL J. GIONET, 69, of Route 9N, died Saturday, July 10, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Tupper Lake, March 2, 1935, the son of the late Ernest and Alma (Turcotte) Gionet. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 tonight at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville. Members of the Keeseville Elks Lodge will meet at the funeral home for a service at 7 p.m. Members of the Eugene G. Santor Knights of Columbus Council #4689, Keeseville, will meet at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Church in Keeseville. Following cremation, burial will be in the parish cemetery. |
