Barbara Wilson Charles

Watervliet, N.Y. — In loving memory of our mother, Barbara Wilson Charles, 77, who died peacefully on June 17, 2004, at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born in 1927 and educated in Plattsburgh, N.Y., she graduated from St. Joseph's Hospital, Yonkers, N.Y., as an L.P.N. Mrs. Charles was a former member of St. Pius X Church, Loudonville, N.Y., and the Watervliet Senior Citizens.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Nicholas A. Charles.

A sweet woman with a great sense of humor and love of life, she will be missed by many, including her three daughters, Barbara Tully (Martin) of Colonie, N.Y., Catherine Blackman (Peter) of Albany, N.Y., and June Charles of Vancouver, Canada; her grandchildren, Nicholas Tully, Meghan Tully and Jessica Gandy and her two sisters, Jane Wilson Ohlsen of Plattsburgh and Mazy Kazanstien of Coco, Fla.

She was predeceased by sister Sally Jarvis and brothers Jack, Ted and Michael Wilson, all of Plattsburgh. There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church in Loudonville, N.Y., followed by a burial service at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands, N.Y.

Joseph A. Ida Sr.

Mineville — Joseph A. Ida Sr., 87, of Mineville, N.Y., died Thursday, June 17, 2004, at the Horace Nye Nursing Home in Elizabethtown, N.Y. He was born in Witherbee, N.Y., on July 30, 1916, the son of Michael and Catherine (Grandi) Ida.

As a young man after leaving school, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and later went to work for Republic Steel Corp. for 41 years as a millwright. Joe served ten years on the Mineville School Board of Education and was a past member of the Mineville/Witherbee Fire Dept. He enjoyed his family, his church and his camp at Lincoln Pond for many years.

Mr. Ida is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Judith Ida of Elizabethtown, N.Y., and Joseph and Linda Ida of Shippenville, Pa.; two brothers, Dominick Ida and John Ida; one sister, Rose Domingues; two grandsons; three granddaughters; three great - grandsons; and two great - granddaughters; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Laura (Franze) Ida in 2003, whom he had married in October 1938. He was also predeceased by his brothers Patrick, Frank and Louis, all of Mineville.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be at the Church of All Saints, Mineville, on Saturday, June 26, 2004, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Moriah, N.Y.

Memorial donations may be made to the Activity fund at the Horace Nye Home, Elizabethtown, N.Y.

Maria J. Ezzo, 73, of Algonkin Street, Ticonderoga, died Thursday, June 17, 2004, at the Moses-Ludington Hospital of Ticonderoga.

She was born Aug. 14, 1930, in Bellona, Caserta, Italy.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, Ticonderoga. A Catholic Wake Service will take place at 5:45 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Ticonderoga. The Rev. William G. Muench, pastor, will officiate. The Rite of Committal will take place in the family plot of St. Mary's Parish Cemetery of Ticonderoga.

Clayton Wood, 80, of Riverview, died Friday, June 18, 2004, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Arrangements were incomplete Friday evening at the O’Neill - Redden - Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
