William M. Stevenson

MORRISVILLE — Knowing the love of his family, and with a song in his heart, Willard M. Stevenson, 85, passed on to eternal life at Crouse Community Center in Morrisville, N.Y. on Thursday, May 27, 2004. He was born, June 9, 1918, in Franklin, Pa., a son of the late Rev. Maurice D. and Esther (Myers) Stevenson. Graduated from Edinboro, Pa. High School in 1936 as Salutatorian of his class. Being an avid reader, he was self-educated in many areas. On Nov., 7, 1941 Willard was united in marriage to the former H. Jane Chamberlain in Hancock, N.Y.. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Willard was at one time employed as Service Manager at Morrisville Motor’s and later SUNY Morrisville until his retirement in 1978. He was member of the Morrisville Community Church, a past Elder and choir member, also a member of the American Legion Post #136 of Morrisville and the local CSEA of the State University of New York.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Jane (Chamberlain), two daughters, Mrs. Priscilla Suits of Morrisville; Mrs. Donald (Constance) Miller of Plattsburgh, and a son Richard Stevenson and wife Dawn of Morrisville; two brothers James H. Stevenson of Greenville, SC; Stanley Stevenson of Hedgesville, WV; a sister Sue York of Earlville.

He was the loving grandfather of seven grandchildren Debra (Suits) Rifenburg and husband James of Wampsville; Pamela (Suits) Delucia and husband Dan of North Syracuse; Julia Jane Miller of Plattsburgh; Krista (Miller) Jiampetti and husband Stephen of Castleton; Laura (Miller) Stevens of Morrisonville; Cheryl Stevenson and Keith Stevenson both of Morrisville; eleven great-grandchildren Alissa, Angela and Tyler Rifenburg; Brittani and Kaylee DeLucia; Jonas Miller, Montana and Max Jiampetti; Charlotte, Sophia and Luke Stevens. A brother M. Verne Stevenson predeceased him.

The family will hold a private memorial service. Interment will be in Morrisville Cemetery. Contributions in Willard’s memory may be made to the Crouse Community Center, Morrisville N.Y. or Morrisville Community Church, Morrisville, N.Y.

Larry M. Worley

BEEKMANTOWN — Larry M. Worley, 71, of 205 O’Neil Road, died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at his home.

He was born in Norfolk, N.Y., on Sept. 18, 1932, the son of David and Eva (Myers) Worley. Mr. Worley married the former Marianne Garrow in 1994 at the United Methodist Church in Plattsburgh.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the VFW Post 125 and American Legion Post 20, both in Plattsburgh.

Mr. Worley worked at Georgia Pacific Paper Mill for 43 years retiring as foreman of the wood yard in 1994.

Survivors include his wife, Marianne; one son, Larry C. Worley of Beekmantown; one daughter, Deborah Fritz of Cumberland Head; one brother, Douglas Worley and his wife, Mary, of Niagara Falls; one sister, Marlene Pettys and her husband, Paul, of Norwood, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; several step-children and step-grandchildren.

A daughter, Jacqueline White, and one brother, Richard Worley, died earlier.

Private calling hours and funeral services will be held for his family, followed by burial in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country.

The. R.W. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

JAMES V. MYLER, 87, of 26 Fort Covington St., Malone, died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Born in Wexford, Ireland, Nov. 12, 1916, he was the son of the late William and Margaret Gaul Myler.

Calling hours will be 9 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the funeral at 10 a.m. in the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home Chapel in Malone. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in Malone.
