Mary E. Couture

Plattsburgh — Mary E. Couture, 81, of 47 Flynn Ave., Plattsburgh, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004.

She was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on Dec. 30, 1922, daughter of Joshua and Mary Julia (French) Hughes.

She married Harold Couture and had one son, Randall (Randy) Couture.

Both her husband Harold and very talented baseball star son Randy predeceased her.

Mary was the attractive and faithful employee of Payson and Stoughton Jewelers for over 35 years. She enjoyed knitting, reading, spending time with friends and with her extended families, the Paysons and the Racines. She will be greatly missed by her adoptive grandkids, Jaime, Charles and Kelly.

Funeral services were Friday, May 29th. She is buried in Rouses Point Cemetery with her beloved son and husband.

May she rest eternally in peace.

Elizabeth L. Farrell

Beekmantown — Elizabeth L. Farrell, 98, died Saturday, May 29, 2004, at Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Chazy on Aug. 27, 1905, the daughter of the late William and Harriet (DeCelle) Latremore.

She was the widow of the late Joseph Farrell, who died in November 1968. They lived at Paul Smith’s campus until his death.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Doris Stratton of Hyde Park, N.Y.; a brother, Brooks Latremore Sr. of Morrisonville; four grandchildren, Susan Powers of New Paltz, Rev. Jeffrey Stratton of Round Lake, Judith Guild of Massachusetts and David Stratton of Rhinebeck; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A brother, Luman Latremore; and a sister, Sister Mary Constantia Farrell, also died earlier.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday from Sacred Heart Church in Chazy. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

The O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh is in charge of arrangements.

Hazel R. Morse, 81, of Beekman Towers, Plattsburgh, died Friday, May 29, 2004, at Evergreen Valley Nursing Home.

She was born in Chazy on Sept. 9, 1922, the daughter of Albert and Susan (Lucia) Rock.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, June 1st, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, followed by services at the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Mountainview Cemetery in Castleton-On-Hudson, N.Y., at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

Niyonu Irene Kahn, 31, of Avon, Conn., and formerly of Mildred Boulevard in Plattsburgh, died

Thursday May 27, 2004, at the John Dempsey University Medical Center of Connecticut in Farrnington, Conn.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 1, 2004, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Sorensen officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Helen (Lena) Bodzek of Waldo Place, Port Henry, died Friday, May 28, 2004, at the Moses-Ludington Nursing Home, Ticonderoga, N.Y.

She was born Feb. 4, 1915, at Mineville, N.Y., the daughter of John and Mary (Bury) Bodzek.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Harland Funeral Home, Port Henry.
