Published: 5/20/04Mary Louise DynkoPeru — Mary Louise "Casey" Dynko, 46, of Bear Swamp Road, Peru, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2004, at her home. She was born in Ticonderoga on Aug. 25, 1957, daughter of Charles and Katherine (Keefe) Cole. She was a 1975 graduate of Lake Placid High School. Casey loved photography and her photographs were used in the pictorial book "Bluff Point." She had worked as a staff photographer for the Plattsburgh Press-Republican. Casey loved animals and was trained and deeply involved in wildlife rehabilitation. She also kept sheep and loved gardening. Casey is survived by a brother, Mark Edward Cole and his partner Cheryl of Stoneham, Mass.; a sister, Lisa Ann Dowd and her husband Robert of Seattle, Wash.; her stepmother, Marilyn "Sam" McEwen of Mt. Dora, Fla.; two aunts; and several cousins. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A memorial service will be held on Friday at 4 p.m. from Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Plattsburgh with Father John Sorensen, pastor of Trinity Episcopal Church in Plattsburgh officiating. Cynthia A. Flint-FergusonFreeport, Maine — Cynthia A. Flint-Ferguson, 45, died unexpectedly on Jan. 24, 2004, at a Brunswick Hospital. She was born in Schenectady a daughter of Donald and Florence (Speyer) Flint, formerly of Hudson Falls. She was a life member of the United Methodist Church in Hudson Falls. Cyndi was a Russell Sage College Kellas Scholar, earning her bachelor of arts in 1980. Cyndi also completed her master of arts in 1981, in an accelerated master's program at Colgate University. She completed her college practicum as a counselor at Hudson Falls High School, as well as the Hamilton County Correctional Facility. After graduating, she held various counselor/evaluator positions for the Community Workshop in Glens Falls; Pathways in Auburn, Maine; Department Human Services in Lewiston, Maine; CIGNA and Insurance, Portland, Maine. Working as a consultant, she developed psychometric tests with the Jewish Employment and Vocational Service (JEVS) of Philadelphia, Pa. She was a guidance counselor for the Gardiner Middle School, Maine. Most recently, Cyndi was a substitute teacher for the Freeport School System and vocational expert providing expert testimony in disability cases for the Social Security Administration's Office of Hearings and Appeals in Portland. Above all she was a devoted mother who adored her children, who in turn adored her. Cyndi was truly a perfectionist and enjoyed all life's challenges. She was accomplished in many crafts and artistic pursuits and enjoyed gardening, music, books and time spent on the Coast. Survivors in addition to her parents of Ormond Beach, Fla., are her husband, Jeremiah J. Ferguson; her children, Moses Ferguson and Emeline Ferguson, all of Freeport, Maine; a sister, Donna Flint-Wheeler of Allentown, Pa.; a brother, William Flint of Durham, Maine; and four nephews. Funeral services were held in Yarmouth, Maine. Spring Interment will take place on Friday at 1 p.m. at the family plot of the Valley View Cemetery of Ticonderoga. The Rev. Paul L. Dufford, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Ticonderoga, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Freeport School System, 17 West Street, Freeport, ME 04032. Local arrangement are under the direction of the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home of Ticonderoga. Justin Peter Malady, of Maladyock Hill, S.C., formerly of Watertown, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004. A graveside memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday at Brookside Cemetery in Watertown Center with Dr. Rev. Jerome Wichelns from St. Paul's Episcopal Church officiating. David F. Corron, 50, of Manor Road, Plattsburgh, died Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Plattsburgh on Oct. 9, 1953, the son of Leo and Leda (Gonyea) Corron. Arrangements are incomplete at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A full obituary will be in the Press-Republican on Friday. James Grant Reed, 89, formerly of Saranac Avenue, Lake Placid, N.Y., died Wednesday, May 19, 2004, at Canton Potsdam Hospital in Canton, N.Y. He was born in New York City, Jan. 7, 1915, the son of James and Irene (See) Reed. A memorial service will be held at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid on Monday at 11 a.m. Reverend Patricia Davis will officiate. Dorothy W. Ryan, 86, of Grandview Avenue, Lake Placid, N.Y., died Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. She was born in Clintonville, April 25, 1918, the daughter of Loren and Alza (McCann) Wrisley. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. The Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements. Donald J. Galusha, 45, of River Street, Lake Placid died Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. He was born in Ticonderoga, N.Y., on June 25, 1958, the son of James I. and Helen (Scripture) Galusha. Calling hours were held Wednesday at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 10 a.m. Rev. Michael Gaffney, pastor of the Saint Agnes Church will officiate. Burial will follow in the North Elba Cemetery, Lake Placid. |
