Published: 5/6/04Susan K. DoyleHarrisburg, Penn./ AuSable Forks — Susan K. Doyle, 93, of Harrisburg, Penn., died Friday, April 30, 2004, in the Villa Teresa Nursing Home, Harrisburg, Penn. Mrs. Doyle formerly of the Silver Lake Road, AuSable Forks moved several years ago to Harrisburg, after the death of her husband, to be with her son and family. While residing in AuSable Forks they were members of the Holy Name Catholic Church. Mrs. Doyle taught religious education at the church, to the younger generation for several years. Her husband, J. Edward Doyle, whom she married June 5, 1939, at the Immaculate Conception Church in East Hampton, Mass., passed away October 3, 1994. Susan is survived by her son, James B. Doyle of Harrisburg; a brother, Hughes L. Kilburn of Wilmington; a sister, Kathleen LeClair of Upper Jay; four grandsons, W. Patrick Doyle of Ayer, Mass., Michael E. Doyle of Steilacoom, Wash., Kevin B. Doyle of Youngsville, N.C., and Brian C. Doyle of Palmyra; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Holy Name Catholic Church, Friday, May 7, 2004, from 1 to 2 p.m. Following the visitation hours Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Philip Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Holy Name Cemetery, AuSable Fork. Memorials to her may be made to the Holy Name School Memorial Fund, AuSable Forks, 12912. Zaumetzer-Sprague Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. Joan J. QuinnMorrisonville — Joan J. Quinn, 76, of Rand Hill Road, Morrisonville, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Utica on March 14, 1928, daughter of Camile and Julia (Tevels) Claeys. Joan was employed by Central Bookkeeping in Poughkeepsie, retiring in 1985. Joan is survived by her husband of 19 years, Joseph P. Quinn of Morrisonville; four children, Dale Diamond and his wife Cindy of Pleasant Valley, Laura LeMay of St. Petersburg, Fla., Ilean Duprey and her husband Michael of Chazy and Clint Diamond of Tucson, Ariz.; two stepdaughters, Deborah Scalla and her husband Steve of Baltimore, Md., and Donna McDade and her husband Bill of Southbury, Conn.; a brother, Robert Claeys of Utica; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Joan was predeceased by her former husband, Harry Diamond; and a brother, Donald Claeys. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2004, at 1 p.m. from Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Plattsburgh with Rev. David Spaulding, pastor of the Chazy Presbyterian Church officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Virginia J. JordanMooers — Virginia J. "Susie" Jordan, 76, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Detroit, Mich., on Nov. 14, 1927, the daughter of George and Rose (Boulerice) Gokey. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church and was a charter member of the Mooers Fire Department Auxiliary. She is survived by her children, George and his companion Lori Young of West Chazy, Linda and Timothy Santana of Martinsburg, W. Va., Kathryn and Christopher Young of Rouses Point, William Bosley of Mooers and Brenda and Stephen Young of Rouses Point; a stepdaughter, Shelley and Robert Butterfield of Burlington, Vt.; a brother and sister in law, Albert and Phyllis Gokey of Rouses Point; two sisters, Jenny Demers of Rouses Point and Bernice Demers of Chazy; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Her first husband, Roger Bosley, and second husband, Robert Jordan died earlier. Two brothers, Carl and Leeward Gokey; and two sisters, Pauline Gokey and Marie Demers also died earlier. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers. Members of the Mooers Knights of Columbus are asked to meet at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home for services. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday from St. Joseph's Church in Mooers. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Mooers Fire Department, Mooers Rescue Squad or the FitzPatrick Cancer Center. Wilfred "Wally" MostynBoca Raton, Fla. — Wilfred "Wally" Mostyn, formerly of Plattsburgh, died March 24, 2004, at his home at age 87. Beloved and deeply devoted husband of Stella Brown of more than 65 years of blissful marriage, he also leaves behind his daughter, Maureen Chenoy; and son, Jeffrey Mostyn. He will be sadly missed by four grandchildren, Howard, Steven, Ron and Johathan; and nine great-grandchildren. A successful businessman in Plattsburgh for 22 years, he was the owner and operator of "Wally's Mans World" Barber Shops. He moved to Florida in 1979 to retire. There he has been active in the community and a golf enthusiast right up until he lost his sight 2 years ago. His funeral was attended by numerous and extended family and friends on March 27, 2004. He was interred in Eternal Light Cemetery in Boynton Beach Fla. R.W. Walker Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. Patricia Newell — Mosier, 66, formerly of Plattsburgh died Monday, May 3, 2004, at the Claxton-Hepburn Hospital in Ogdensburg, N.Y. She was born in Plattsburgh on May 2, 1938, the daughter of Victor and Leona (Barber) Burnell. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at St. Alexander's Cemetery in Morrisonville. Arrangements are by the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. |
