Dorothy L. Place

CHAMPLAIN — Dorothy L. Place, 85, of Rouses Point, died Saturday, April 17, 2004, at her son’s home in Champlain.

She was born Sept. 13, 1918, in Richford, Vt., the daughter of Oswald and Clara Duval Vincent. They predeceased her.

She graduated from high school. She was married to Kenneth A. Place in 1947, and he predeceased her on April 17, 1991. She was a homemaker, a religious education teacher for many years in Chazy, and she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and of the Ladies of St. Ann.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Keith and Dale Place of Champlain, one daughter Monica Patnaude of Chester, Md., and one brother, Leland Vincent of Richford, Vt.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Roaul, Euclide, and Alcide Vincent, and three sisters, Annonica Maurice, Jeannine Vincent and Noella Racine.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 21 at All Saint’s Church in Richford, Vt. Burial will follow in All Saint’s Cemetery in Richford. A luncheon will follow in Dorian Hall across from the church immediately following the burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rouses Point Fire Department, Rescue Squad. Arrangements are with M.B. Clark Funeral home in Champlain.

Laura B. VanValkenburg

MORRISONVILLE — Mrs. Laura B. VanValkenburg, 70, of Route 22B Morrisonville, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2004, at the Clinton County Nursing Home.

She was born in Albany, Vt., on Jan. 31, 1934, the daughter of Andrew and Hazel (Cochran) Loomis. Laura enjoyed Bob Ross painting.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William and Linda LaCount of Plattsburgh; her grandchildren William and Stephanie LaCount of Killeen, Texas, Teresa and Doug Frary of Brandon, Vt., and Kristi LaCount and Lyssa LaCount of Plattsburgh; and one great-grandchild, Donovan, of Killeen, Texas.

Calling hours and funeral arrangements will be at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in the Saranac Independent Cemetery.

Friends wishing may make donations to the Morrisonville Fire Department.

Arrangements are by the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

MARK ROBERT RENAUD, 42, of Couch Street, Plattsburgh, and formerly of San Antonio, Texas, died Saturday, April 17, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
