Alfred "Butch" W. Carpenter

Plattsburgh --- Alfred "Butch" W. Carpenter, 57, of Ellenburg Center, died Thursday, April 15, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center.

He was born May 18, 1946, in Rouses Point, N.Y., the son of Armand Favreau and Inez Carpenter. They predeceased him.

He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He married Donna E. Lavoie on Aug. 10, 1985. Most of his working life he was a New York State Correction Officer, retiring from Altona Correction Facility. He was an avid NASCAR racing and DaIe Earnhardt No. 3 fan. He also enjoyed camping and the outdoors.

He was predeceased by one sister, Joyce Pelkey.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Christine Trombly of Keeseville, N.Y., and Kimberly Grass of New Hampshire; and three grandchildren, Kevin, Kara and Kristen Trombly.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 20th, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Rouses Point. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Rouses Point.

Donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association.

Arrangements are with M.B. Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point.

Harry H. Reed

West Chazy --- Harry H. Reed, 67, of West Chazy, died Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt.

He was born in Plattsburgh on Feb. 1, 1937, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Reed.

He was employed as a pipe fitter for Local 773 pipe fitters in Glens Falls for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda (Burleigh) Reed of West Chazy; a son, Harry Reed of North Carolina; two daughters, Trudy Lassiter and Melissa Champagne, both of Georgia; seven stepchildren; three brothers, Dick Reed of Oswego, Doug Reed of Tennessee and Sonny Reed of California; three sisters, Clara Gaines, Pat Ball and Melody Fitzgerald, all of Tennessee; and six grandchildren.

Calling hours and services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens MausoIeum.

The O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh is in charge of arrangements.
