G. Glyndon Cole

PLATTSBURGH — G. Glyndon Cole, 94, formerly of 13 Daytona Boulevard, Plattsburgh died Sunday, March 21, 2004, at the Meadowbrook Nursing Home.

Mr. Cole was born in Gouverneur, N.Y., on June 6, 1909, the son of Edson and Grace (Phillips) Cole.

He married the former California G. Morgan at the Presbyterian Church in Forest Port, N.Y., in 1935, she died in 1994.

Mr. Cole was a member of the Dannemora United Methodist. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan College with a bachelors degree and later received his masters degree from Syracuse University.

Mr. Cole taught high school English in Chaumont, N.Y., for nine years; at Savannah, N.Y., for two years; then in LeRoy, N.Y., for one year; and in Ogdensburg for 12 years. They moved to Saranac, N.Y., in 1955 where he taught for another six years. In 1961, he took a position as a librarian at Plattsburgh State University College, retiring in 1975.

Survivors include one son, Robert L. Cole and his wife Amy of Memphis, N.Y.; two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Trivilino of West Potsdam and Mrs. Linda Cane of Morrisonville; seven grandchildren, Michael Trivilino, Deborah Roy and husband David, Robert Cole, Amy Cole, Tracy Coffey and her husband Stephen, Jody Desso and her husband Brian and Shelley Cane; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Desso and Rylee Desso; two nieces; and one nephew.

Private calling hours and funeral services will be held for the family. Burial will be in North Watertown Cemetery at a later date.

Donations in his memory, may be made to the Dannemora United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Arrangements are with the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.

Nancy T. LeClair

CHAMPLAIN — Nancy T. LeClair, 71, of Champlain died Sunday, March 21, 2004, at her home.

She was born July 20, 1932, the daughter of Trifflie and Laura Gagnier Trombly.

She graduated from Chazy Rural School.

She worked in real estate and retired in 1995. Since retiring she had been very active as a volunteer for St. Mary’s parish in Champlain and other civic organizations. She traveled to many countries and always found it to be a learning experience.

She is survived by one son, Thomas W. LeClair of Vail, Colo.; one sister, Joyce Castine of Plattsburgh; and one brother, Robert and Gloria Trombly of Champlain. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and a long-time friend, Orville (Bing) Gload of Champlain.

Mrs. LeClair was predeceased by her father in 1983; a son, Matthew S. LeClair in 1992; and her mother in 2003.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, March 23 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Champlain. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Mary’s Church in Champlain, Champlain EMS or Hospice. A reception will follow the Mass and will be held at the Knights of Columbus in Champlain.

Arrangements are with the M.B. Clark Funeral Home in Champlain.

Otto M. Bolles

PLATTSBURGH — Otto M. Bolles, 97, of 6 Holland Avenue, Plattsburgh died Sunday, March 21, 2004, at his home.

He was born on Arnold Hill in Clintonville, N.Y., on March 2, 1907, the son of Lee Charles and Anna (Durkin) Bolles.

He married the former Edith Bishop on Sept. 10, 1938, in Williamstown, Mass.

Besides his family, Otto’s loves were selling cars and placing Bibles for the Gideons.

Otto was preceded in death by his son, John.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Edith; his son, Roger; daughters, Barbara Good and Jane Vaughan; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Charlotte Bolles.

There will be no public calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the Turnpike Wesleyan Church on the Military Turnpike on Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at 2 p.m.

Donations in his memory, may be made to the Gideons, International c/o Mr. George Gates, 7 Sailly Avenue, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.

Funeral arrangements were made by the R.W. Walker Funeral Home.

Bernard J. Rolich

Lyon Mountain — Bernard J. Rolich, 72, of the Standish Road, Lyon Mountain died Monday, March 22, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh, N.Y.

He was born in Lyon Mountain, N.Y., on Sept. 21, 1931, the son of Felix and Melvina (Getavesky) Rolich. They predeceased him.

He was married to Sylvia Pivetta on Aug. 20, 1960. She predeceased him on July 2, 1972.

Mr. Rolich is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Kerry Rolich of Verdun, Quebec and Steven and Sue Rolich of Rochester, N.Y.; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Bailey of Stuart, Fla., and Pat Warne of Sun City, Fla.

Mr. Rolich graduated from Lyon Mountain High School and served in the U.S. Army from July 1952 to April 1954 being honorably discharged. He was employed by Republic Steel, Lyon Mountain until it’s closing in 1967 and was employed briefly at Georgia-Pacific before going to Northern Adirondack Central School when he retired from there as custodian in 1994. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Church, a 50 year member of Sorrell Woodward American Legion Post 1623, Lyon Mountain, 45 year member of Pine Camp and member of the Doll House Gang. Bernard enjoy hunting, trapping, fishing and tying his own fishing flies.

Calling hours will be held at the Lyon Mountain Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 23 from 4 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24 in St. Bernard’s Church with Monsignor Bernard Christman, officiating.

Burial will take place in the spring at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Lyon Mountain.

Arrangements are with the Chateaugay Funeral Home.

Irving Trestman

Crown Point — Irving Trestman, 86, of Crown Point, N.Y., passed away on March 20, 2004, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Center in Burlington, Vt.

Mr. Trestman resided at Essex County ARC’s Ferry Road Residence in Crown Point for many years.

He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on June 14, 1917, the son of Leo Trestman and Sarah (Berger) Trestman.

Mr. Trestman was respected by all who knew him at the Essex County ARC. Those who were close to him and supported him through the years, enriched his life. Mr. Trestman is remembered as a pleasant gentlemen who enjoyed his special relationships, celebrating his Jewish heritage, going for walks, camping and sampling local restaurants. He will be sorely missed.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, March 24 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Harland’s Funeral Home in Port Henry. Immediately following will be a service in celebration of his life.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Essex County ARC, 10 St. Patrick’s Place, Port Henry, NY 12974.

Calvin Lyndon LaBarge, 78, of East Main Street, Chateaugay died Monday, March 22, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh, N.Y.

He was born in Johnson City, N.J., on Aug. 16, 1925, the son of Lyndon and Elizabeth (Dupree) LaBarge.

Calling hours will be held at Chateaugay Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 23 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 25 in St. Patrick’s Church with Reverend John Demo, officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Chateaugay.
