Rodney E. Good

Plattsburgh — Mr. Rodney E. "Rockin Rodney" Good, 74, of Charlene Drive, Plattsburgh, passed away Friday, March 12, 2004, at his home surrounded by his family and friends while under the care of hospice.

He was born in Dannemora on Jan. 20, 1930, the son of Homer and Natalie (Gero) Good.

Rodney was employed as a tractor trailer driver for Plattsburgh Grocery and Bouyea Bakery, where he retired in 1990 after 33 years. He enjoyed taking long drives, riding and spending time with his grandchildren. Rodney was a member of St. John's Church, Plattsburgh.

He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Scott Good; his siblings, Doris Fitzpatrick, Carl Good, Bernice Salese and Audrey Ryan.

He is survived by his wife Claudette (Frederick) Good of Plattsburgh; his children, Mark, Falene, Jill, Terilyn and Timmy; three stepchildren, Jonathan Michael Frederick and his companion Nicole Gagnier, Timothy Frederick and his wife Melissa and Nancy "Sam" Frederick and her companion Christopher Rock; a sister, Aleida Giordano; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Monday, March 15, 2004, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. from St. John's Church, Plattsburgh.

Interment will be at a later date in St. Peter's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to Hospice of the North Country.

Dennis G. Decosse

Mooers Forks — Dennis G. Decosse, 61, died Friday, March 12, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Mooers Forks on May 27, 1942, the son of Adrian and Ellen (Gadway) Decosse.

He loved animals and nature and enjoyed driving his four-wheeler.

He is survived by his mother, Ellen Decosse of Mooers Forks; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Roma and Helen Decosse of Mooers Forks and George Decosse of Mooers Forks; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Emma Savage of Rouses Point, Theresa and Joseph Snide of Mooers Forks, Bernadette Trudeau of Morrisonville and Loretta and Gerald Lafountain of Altona.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday from St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 27th, at 9 a.m. also from St. Ann's Church and interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Ruth M. Best

Putnam Station — Ruth M. Best, 86, of Best Road, passed away Friday, March 12, 2004, at the Moses-Ludington Hospital of Ticonderoga after a brief illness.

She was born in Putnam Station on May 23, 1917, the daughter of the late George Roy and Hattie Hartley (Isles) Best.

Ruth was a lifelong Putnam Station resident. She served as town clerk in Putnam Station for many years.

She was a member of the Putnam United Presbyterian Church and at one time was a deacon of the church.

Ruth was affectionately known by her grandnieces and nephews as Nana. She especially loved children and also animals.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Edward Best and George Robert (Bob) Best; and four sisters, Irene Peters, Margaret Paige, Ada Bales and Gertrude Caplan.

Survivors include one sister, Maude I. Shackett of Putnam Station; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga.

A funeral service will take place Monday, 11 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church of Putnam Station. The Rev. Sharon K. Weber, pastor, will officiate.

Interment will take place at the family plot of the Meadow Knoll Cemetery of Putnam Station.

Ruth L. (Pike) Mortensen, 74, of 30 Greenwood St., Lake Placid, N.Y., died Friday, March 12, 2004, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

She was born in Medford, Mass., on June 28, 1929, the daughter of Henry Irving and Ella Louise (MacDonald) Pike.

There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 18th, at 3 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid. Rev. Mark Demers, pastor of the Adirondack Community Church, will officiate.

Annette Marie Ange Richer, 100, of Tupper Lake, N.Y., died Saturday, March 13, 2004, at the Mercy Health Care Center in Tupper Lake.

Calling hours will be held at the Richer Funeral Home on Monday, March 15th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 16th, at St. Alphonsus Church at 2 p.m.

Robert A. Lafountain, 80, of 34 Forest Hill Ave., Saranac Lake, N.Y., died Saturday, March 13, 2004, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Silver Lake, N.Y., on Nov. 10, 1923, the son of Edward and Mary (Buckley) LaFountain.

Visitation will be held at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. An Elks service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday followed by a Bible Vigil at 8:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Church with Rev. Kevin McEwan officiating. Burial will be at Assumption Cemetery in Redford in May.
