Louis J. Ida

Mineville, N.Y. — Louis J. Ida, 78, of Sherman Road, Mineville, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at Moses-Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga, N.Y.

He was born June 4, 1925, in Witherbee, N.Y., the son of Michael and Catherine (Garande) Ida.

He was a veteran of World War II.

Louis is survived by his daughter, Bernice Smith of Branchville, N.J.; two grandsons, Jamie and Daniel Toscano; his brothers, John Ida of Clifton Park, Joseph Ida and Dominick Ida of Mineville; a sister, Rose Dominguez of Amsterdam, N.Y.; his companion, Helen Lebednik; two great-grandsons; and nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his wife, Mary Alice Ida.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Church of All Saints in Mineville.

Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in the spring.

Donations may be made in Louis' memory to the Town of Moriah Ambulance Squad.

John D. "Jack" McMaster, 90, of 198 McMaster Rd., Lake Clear, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at his home, where he was born.

He was born in Lake Clear, N.Y., on Oct. 10, 1913, the son of Joseph and Cora (Rawlins) McMaster.

Visitation will be held at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Linda McIntyre, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will take place at Harrietstown Cemetery in Saranac Lake in May.

Roman Nahirniak Sr., 73, of 836 State Rte. 122, Constable, N.Y., died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, where he had been a patient since March 6th.

He was born in Ispas, Romania, the son of the late Nicholas and Maria (Iarema) Nahirniak.

There are no calling hours. Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Constable in the spring.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc., of Malone.
