Lloyd T. McDonagh

Malone — Lloyd T. McDonagh, 79, of 51 Gentle Breeze Drive, died Monday, March 8, 2004, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center.

He was born in Malone, N.Y., on Jan. 28, 1925, the son of Patrick and Frances (O'Leary) McDonagh.

He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Austin and Dawn McDonagh of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; two sisters, Irene McDonough and Helen McDonough, both of Malone, N.Y.; two nieces, Susan Cellier of Hope Well Junction, N.Y., and Mary Barcomb of Plattsburgh, N.Y.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Ayton McDonagh and Patrick McDonagh and one sister, Rosemary McDonough.

He lived most of his life in Malone, N.Y., attending local schools and graduating from Franklin Academy in 1944. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in August of 1944, serving in the European Theater. He was honorably discharged in June of 1946 as a staff sergeant. He then became employed as an air-traffic controller and worked for Colonial Airlines.

He later became employed by the U.S. Customs Service as an inspector and retired from there after over 20 years of service. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, member of the American Legion, Malone Lodge of Elks 1303 and the Federal Employees Organization.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 5 p.m. in the St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home chapel.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church.

Spring burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Ft. Covington St. Road, Malone, N.Y.

Funeral arrangements are through St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home, Inc.
