Published: 3/8/04Ethel Mason AllenPLATTSBURGH — Ethel Mason Allen, 101, of Sonya Way, Plattsburgh, died Saturday, March 6, 2004 at her home under the loving care of her family. She was born in Amwell, N.J., March 17, 1902, the daughter of John and Laura (Bresse) Mason. She enjoyed crocheting and playing cards and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Paul Mason and Barbara Allen of Peru; one daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Herb Farlee of Lambertville, N.J.; seven grandchildren and spouses, Lynda and Robert Bigelow of Peru, Cornell Allen of North Carolina, Paul and Sue Allen, and Frieda Lusk, all of Delaware, and Debbie and Dennis Fisher, Herb and Ruth Farlee, and Jim Farlee and companion, Tom, all of New Jersey; four step-grandchildren, William and Sandy Digman, and Steven Digman, all of Ohio, Dennis and Sharon Digman of Middletown, and Chris and Rachel Digman of Albany; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Jacob Newton Allen; and a sister, Myrtle Devine. There will be no public calling hours. Burial will be in the spring in St. Augustine’s Cemetery in Peru. Donations in her memory may be made to the family. Arrangements are being handled by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. Andrew L. BuskeyVIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Andrew L. "Sonny" Buskey, 79, of Northtree Place, Virginia Beach, passed away at his home on Saturday, March 6, 2004. He was born in Plattsburgh on Sept. 29, 1924, son of Arthur A. and Rose Mary (Newell) Bousquet. Andrew is survived by his wife, Eva A. (Hooper) Buskey of Virginia Beach, Va.; three daughters, Mrs. Nancy (Ronald) Prewitt of Wheaton, Mo., Mrs. Linda (Kenneth) Ossman of Macedon, N.Y., and Denise Guisbert of Jackson, Miss.; two sons, Andrew (Joanne) Buskey Jr. of Saranac and Daniel (Brenda) Buskey of Virginia Beach; a sister, Patricia (Buskey) O’Hearn of West Chazy; a brother, Richard Buskey of Plattsburgh; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; aunts, uncles, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Andrew was predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth (Buskey) O’Hearn and Ruth (Buskey) Garrow. Andrew was a native and long-time resident of Clinton County and also resided in Jackson, Miss., Wheaton, Mo. and for more than 12 years in the Virginia Beach area. He was an employee of the State of New York Department of Public Works, the City of Plattsburgh, and his last job was for the Norfolk Ship Yards in Virginia. Calling hours will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Church in Dannemora. Burial will be later in the year in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Plattsburgh. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Oddesy Health Care (Hospice) of Virginia Beach, Va. LUCY K. THEODORE, 93, of 9 Middle St., Brunswick, Maine, died March 6, 2004, in Freeport, Maine. She was born June 14, 1910, in New York City, the daughter of Anna and Joseph Kuczynski. There are no calling hours. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Adirondack Community Church in Lake Placid. The Rev. Richard Sears will officiate. Burial will follow in North Elba Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, 120 Wall St., New York, NY 10005. The Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements. MICHAEL J. LaBRAKE, 48, of Old Military Road, Lake Placid, died March 6, 2004. He was born in Lake Placid on Aug. 12, 1955, the son of Harry and Aline (Wilcox) LaBrake. There are no calling hours. A memorial Mass will be offered 11 a.m. March 22 at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid with the Rev. J. Michael Gaffney officiating. The Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements. GERTRUDE E. LePINE, 87, formerly of River Road, Malone, died Saturday, March 6, 2004, at the Loretto Nursing Home in Oswego. Born in Malone on Nov. 12, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Minnie (Kelsey) Condon. Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Wednesday at Notre Dame Church in Malone. Burial will be in Notre Dame cemetery in the spring. Donations may be made in her memory to either Notre Dame Church or to the Malone Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. |
