She was born on Dec. 12, 1941, in Malone, N.Y., the daughter of Clement and Catherine (Disotelle) Robideau. Her parents predeceased her.

She was educated by the Ursuline Nuns at Notre Dame School and graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1960. During her senior year of high school, Lucille worked at Gonyea's Greenhouses as a bookkeeper. She later worked at the Charles Olmstead Insurance Agency on East Main Street (now the Cardinal Insurance Agency). She considered her greatest job was that of wife and mother. Lucille was well known for her delicious meals, hospitality and generous spirit. She touched many lives with her humor, compassion and never-ending love.

She was a member of St. Helen’s Church, Chasm Falls, N.Y., and a member of St. Helen’s Altar and Rosary Society.

Lucille married Lyndon Raville on Sept. 7, 1963, at St. Helen's Church in Chasm Falls, with the Rev. Eugene Beaudet presiding.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Michael and Amy (Otis) Raville of Jericho, Vt., and Dean and Marcia (DeWitt) Raville of Malone, N.Y.; and one daughter, Mrs. Scott (Lois Raville) Bouvier of Peru, N.Y. Cynthia Crystal Meyer

Morrisonville — Cynthia Crystal Meyer, 53, of Pine Ridge Drive, Morrisonville, was lifted up into the arms of Jesus, Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at her home.

She was born in Rome, N.Y., Jan. 11, 1951, the daughter of Franklyn August and Gladys Esther (Lamb) Meyer.

Cynthia graduated from Holland Patent Central High School in 1971 where she was awarded perfect attendance. She was also a graduate of the Utica School of Commerce.

She was a former member of the Floyd United Methodist Church in Floyd, N.Y., where she was raised and a more recent member of the Morrisonville Community Church.

Cindy had a wonderful sense of humor and loyalty. She always had a pun for every occasion and had the ability to lift up everyone's spirits in times of sadness. She enjoyed many different types of music, including Gospel, oldies and listening to WIRY Radio Station. Her favorite colors were pink and blue and she loved Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too. She had her own apartment for seven years but, due to health concerns, she made her home with the Pine Ridge Residence of the Advocacy and Resource Center. She made scrapbooks for one of her favorite shows, Days of Our Lives and was an avid daily viewer. She was a member of the Drake Hogestyn and Deidre Hall Fan Clubs and had great admiration for Drake, whom she met on two occasions. One of her greatest blessings was her faith in God passed on to her by her mother and her church. Her great faith was reflected by a collection of angels, which surrounded her even until her passing.

Survivors include her sister, Christy Sturdevant of Cadyville and her companion Jim McQueen of Lakeshore Road, Peru; her former brother-in-law, Charles Sturdevant of Cadyville; one nephew and spouse, Jamie and Crystal Sturdevant of Aberdeen, S.D.; two nieces, Sarah Gem Sturdevant and fiancé Ed Burgess and Amber Marie Sturdevant, all of Cadyville; and three great-nieces, Diamond, Jayde and Emerald Sturdevant.

She was predeceased by her parents; and her grandmother, Sarah Belle Lamb.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Saturday, March 27, 2004, at 10 a.m. at the Morrisonville Community Church with Rev. Rodger White, pastor, officiating. Burial will be held later in the Evergreen Cemetery in Stokes, N.Y.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Ronald McDonald House in South Burlington, Vt., or the Morrisonville Community Church.

Harriette Scott Bruen Davis

Westport — Harriette Scott Bruen Davis, of Westport, N.Y., departed this life on March 4, 2004, at the age of 93. She had spent the last two years of her full and remarkable life at the Moses-Ludington Nursing Home in Ticonderoga, where she was given much love and care by a wonderful professional staff.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Franklin "Bill" Davis, who died in November of 1977. Bill and Harriette are survived by three children, Jim, who now resides at their home at 649 Pelfershire Rd., Westport, N.Y. 12993; daughter Martha Clasquin who resides at 34 Sherwood Dr., Brockport, N.Y. 14420 and Robert Norman "Bob" Davis, an attorney living in Guam. Bob's address is P.O. Box 326686, Hagatna, Guam 96932. Jim's phone number in Port Henry is 518-546-7985.

Harriette and Bill are also survived by five grandchildren, Jim's son Scott, Martha's son Peter Clasquin, Peter's sisters, Elizabeth and Michelle and by Bob's daughter, Jennifer.

Those of you who may have known Bill as the proprietor of the Champlain Candy Company in the early 1950s, or as the Essex County Historian in later years and who knew our mother as a tireless worker for the Essex County Child Welfare Department, may not have realized that she was born in Taegu, Korea, Oct. 2, 1910, of missionary parents. She attended high school for one year in Princeton, N.J., while the family was "on furlough" and for three years in Pyang Yang, which is presently the capitol of North Korea. The continued division of the two Koreas grieved her to the end, as she held a special place in her heart for all the people her father introduced to Christianity. His word was simple and his methodology as well. "God loves you. If you accept and understand that, go and tell your family that God loves them too and bring them to church next time." It is a testimonial to his work in Korea that South Korea is a thriving republic with more Presbyterians living there than there are in the United States and who, by the way, send foreign aid to Korean families in this country.

After taking her undergraduate degree at Mount Holyoke College, she attended Columbia University Teacher's College for one year and returned to the Pyang-Yang Foreign School to teach for several years. She returned to America via the Trans-Siberian Railroad, through Moscow and Vienna to Paris, where she studied French and served as a companion and teacher of English to a family with whom she boarded for about eight months. Harriette met Bill Davis in Philadelphia and was married there in 1938. Their common intellectual passion was poetry. Our mom could recite stanza after stanza of poems she memorized at the age of 12 when she was 85. They moved to Westport with Jim and Martha Ann in 1944 and Harriette substituted at Westport Central School briefly in 1945. Bob was born here in 1949.

All three children attended WCS from kindergarten through high school. Jim spent four years in the U.S. Navy and graduated from Colby College, Waterville, Maine. Martha graduated from Harper College in Binghamton, N.Y., and did her graduate work at Colgate. Bob graduated from Colgate and joined the U.S. Navy. He met his Taiwanese wife in Guam and has been living in that island paradise ever since.

Our Mom's mission in life seems to have been to serve others with a light heart, genuine compassion and dedication. Not only did she and Bill raise three children through some pretty hard times and send them all through college, she served the entire community for many years in the Child Welfare Department. We hope that those who knew her as the angel of mercy who arranged for foster care and adoptions, who trucked disadvantaged children all over the state for hearing tests and medical procedures, who listened sympathetically any time of the day or night to tales of abuse, tragedy, life and death, will remember her for her gentle nature, beautiful smile and service to the church and the community.

A memorial service will be held sometime before the end of March at the Mt. Moriah Presbyterian Church, 19 Church St., Port Henry, NY 12974. Anyone wishing to remember Harriette with flowers or with a donation should send such to this church, which she attended faithfully since 1944.

He was born in Plattsburgh on June 30, 1940, son of Edgar and Helen (Waldron) Kennedy.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 a.m. from St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will be later in the year in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
