Published: 3/2/04Georgianna J. RosioAuSable Forks — Georgianna J. Rosio, 51, of the Silver Lake Road, passed away suddenly at the Meadowbrook Nursing Home, Plattsburgh, on Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004. She was born March 26, 1952, in Plattsburgh, the daughter of Bernard and Veronica (Hart) LaDuke. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Church in Black Brook. She enjoyed playing bingo and traveling. Georgianna was a loving, devoted wife and sister. Survived by her husband, Bernard Rosio, whom she married Aug. 19, 1972, at Holy Name Church, AuSable Forks; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Carol and Peter Michalonis of Stillwater, Edie LaDuke and companion and Sylvia and Walter Eldred, all of Plattsburgh, Patricia and Russell Kelly of Clintonville and Gerry and Wayne Mitchell of Lake Placid; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Bernie LaDuke of Plattsburgh, Gordon and Christine LaDuke of Schuyler Falls and Robert LaDuke of Caribou, Maine; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the ZaumetzerSprague Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Church, Black Brook. Burial will be at a later date in St. Matthew’s Cemetery, Black Brook. Memorials to her may be made to the AuSable Forks Volunteer Ambulance Service or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Kathryn C. O’HearnWest Chazy — Kathryn C. O’Hearn, 100, formerly of Cemetery Street, died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center. She was born in West Chazy on Nov. 1, 1903, the daughter of Charles and Emma (Bassett) Budro. Mrs. O’Hearn was a member of St. Joseph’s Church for most of her life. She loved reading and had celebrated her 100th birthday last fall. Mrs. O’Hearn was employed at Diamond National Paper Company for 24 years, until mandatory retirement at age 65 in 1969. Survivors include two sons, Thomas O’Hearn and his wife Rita of Plattsburgh and Ralph O’Hearn and his wife Jean of West Chazy; one daughter, Mrs. Raymond ("Betty") Gagnier of West Chazy; one daughter-in-law, Nancy O’Hearn of Orlando, Fla.; one son-in-law, James Woodley of Rome, N.Y.; several grandchildren; greatgrandchildren; great - great - grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Two sons, Harold and Joseph O’Hearn; one daughter, Kathleen Woodley; and one grandson, Patrick Gagnier, died earlier. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in her parish cemetery on May 5, 2004. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the St. Joseph’s Church Altar Fund or the West Chazy Volunteer Ambulance Service. John W. McMillenChamplain — John W. McMillen, 61, of Champlain, passed away Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point. He was born in Montpelier, Vt., on March 8, 1942, the son of Ernest McMillen and Ruby Willey of Vermont. John loved working in his woodshop and outside in his yard. He valued his family and friends. His wife Maureen survives John. They were married for 23 beautiful years. He has four children: Jennie McMillan, Sandy Gallion with son-in-law Tom Gallion, who live in Florida. His son Michael McMillan lives in Anderson, S.C. His daughter Megan McMillan attends college at Potsdam. He has two grandchildren, Zachary and Taylor Gallion of Florida, who adored their grandfather. He also has several brothers and sisters: brothers Wendell McMillan of White River Junction, Vt., Francis McMillan of Greenfield, Mass., Robert McMillan of Beekmantown, Patsyann Lucca of San Jose, Calif., Steven McMillan of Champlain, N.Y., Patrick McMillan of Bowlhead, Ariz.; and two sisters, Debra Deyo of Altona, N.Y., and Cecile Smail of Gill, Mass. He also has several nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at St. Mary’s Church in Champlain at 10 a.m. Memorial donations in his name may be made to American Cancer Society. Cecile V. BruceSARANAC — Cecile V. Bruce, 85, of Saranac, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at Fletcher-Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt. She was born in Saranac on May 13, 1918, the daughter of Loren and Lena (Hart) Seney. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Dannemora and enjoyed bingo, Scrabble and listening to fiddle music. Cecile is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Shirley Bruce of Saranac, Fred and Shirley Bruce of Schuyler Falls, Allen and Tina Bruce of Saranac and Loren and Pam Bruce of Saranac; two daughters and sons-in-law: Loraine and James Collins of Loris, S.C., and Lena and Ford Balch of Lumberton, N.C., her caregiver and grandson, Bruce and Joanne Balch of Hinesburg, Vt.; two brothers, Lawrence Seney of Chazy Lake and Clifford Seney of Newcomb; a sister, Theresa Lavarnway of Lake Pleasant; a brother-in-law, Leonard Abare of Newcomb; 21 grand -children; 32 great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Albert Bruce, died on Oct. 12, 1992. Three brothers, Robert, Clifton and Loren Seney; and three sisters, Rita Seney, Marie Williams and Agnes Abare, also died earlier. Calling hours were held March 1, 2004, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the O’Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday from St. Joseph’s Church in Dannemora. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment will be in the parish cemetery at a later date. Richard A. Martinez, 56, of Rouses Point, passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point. |
