Published: 2/20/04William H. Quick Jr.Watervliet, N.Y. — Mr. William H. Quick Jr., 41, formerly of Plattsburgh, and most recently of Watervliet, N.Y., passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at the Albany Medical Center Hospital in Albany, N.Y. He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Sept. 26, 1962, the son of William H. and Janet R. (Rabideau) Quick Sr. William was a graduate of Plattsburgh High School and at the time of his death he was project foreman for Moisture Barriers Roofing and Shoot Metal Corporation in Altamont, N.Y. He enjoyed working with his hands especially woodworking, cooking for many area restaurants in Plattsburgh and he enjoyed being out of doors. William was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Rita Rabideau; his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Willie Belle Quick; an uncle who was his best friend, Gary Rabideau. He is survived by his parents, William and Janet Quick Sr. of Plattsburgh; his daughters, Sarah and Kaitlyn; two sisters, Tammy LaRose and her husband Louis and their daughters Marlene and MaryBeth of Westport, N.Y., and Jody Johns and her husband Richard and their sons Richard and Jeremy of Clemmons, N.C.; his maternal grandfather, Richard Rabideau Sr. of Morrisonville; his wife, Mary Agnes Quick of Panama City Beach, Fla.; a special friend, Susan Barber of Watervliet, N.Y.; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive him. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at noon from St. Peter’s Church. Loretta May LagreeMalone — Loretta May Lagree, 90, formerly of Churubusco, N.Y., died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone, N.Y., following transfer from Alice Hyde Nursing Home, where she had been a patient since August 1994. She was born in Churubusco, N.Y., on April 5, 1913, the daughter of Fred and Mabel (Yelle) Nichols. She was married to Augustine Lagree in 1931 at St. Philomena's Church, Churubusco. He predeceased her on Dec. 8, 1973. Mrs. Lagree is survived by her children, Henry Lagree of Methuen, Mass., Edgar Lagree of Clearwater, Fla., William Lagree of Churubusco, N.Y., Paul Lagree of Malone, George Lagree of Churubusco, N.Y., Harold and Linda Lagree of Dallas, Texas, Mary Forrette of Tennessee, Agnes Forrette of Massachusetts and Martha and Bruce Guay of Ellenburg, N.Y.; a stepson, Francis Lagree of Churubusco; her sisters, Rose and Herman Bow of Malone, N.Y., Laura Birnbaun of Flemington, N.J., and Ida Jenorou of Ministique, Mich.; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. Those that preceded in death besides her husband were her parents; two sisters, Evelyn Avery and Pearl McDonald; and three brothers, Earl, Raymond and Lawrence Nichols. She was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Churubusco. Calling hours will be held at Chateaugay Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 20th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Howard McCasland officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at Immaculate Heart Cemetery, Churubusco. Arrangements are with the Chateaugay Funeral Home. Douglas C. Hartson Sr.Winthrop, N.Y. — Funeral services for Douglas C. Hartson Sr., 60, of Winthrop, will be held Saturday morning at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Brasher Falls, with Rev. Stephen Gratto officiating. Friends may call at the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in the Town of Stockholm. Mr. Hartson died Tuesday evening, Feb. 17, 2004, at his home under the care of his family. Doug is survived by his wife, Linda; four children and their spouses, Chris and Paula Gardner of Fairfax, Va., Doug and Kathleen Hartson Jr. of Schuyler Falls, Kevin and Maryette Hartson of Shortsville and Mark and Tracie Fountain of Plattsburgh; his grandchildren, Hanna Marie Gardner, Heidi René Gardner, Randi Lee Hartson, Victoria Alexandra Hartson, Tyler Joseph Fountain and Hayley Marie Fountain; two brothers, Mark and Wendy Hartson of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Duane and Tina Hartson of Peru; two sisters, Mrs. Ronald (Donna) Sanborn of Norwood and Mrs. Bernard (Cynthia) Richards of Brushton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two twin grandsons, Jonathan Douglas Hartson and Austin Michael Hartson. Doug was born on May 17, 1943, in Potsdam, the son of the late Clayton and Lillie May (Moulton) Hartson. He went to the Munson Country School in Stockholm, graduated from St. Lawrence Central School in Brasher Falls in 1961, where he participated in baseball, basketball and hockey and then attended Canton ATC. On Sept. 14, 1963, he married Linda Arquiett at St. Patrick's Church in Brasher Falls with Monsignor Herbert Hannon officiating. Doug had worked at a dairy farm in Dansville and then moved back to the North Country to work on road construction. He then went to work at General Motors and moved on to Alcoa where he was a millwright. He retired from Alcoa in September 2001 after 36 years. Doug was a dedicated New York Yankees fan who loved the game of baseball. He was a Little League coach for many years, an umpire, played baseball for the Dickinson Team, played Old Timers Softball with Lil's in Brasher Falls and The Club in Winthrop. He was a member of the Malone Country Club and Meadowbrook Country Club in Winthrop, where he was president of the Thursday Night Mixed Couples Golf League. During the cooler season he changed his sport to bowling where he was the president of the Moira Bowling Association and secretary-treasurer for the Monday Night League (20+ years) at Big D's House in Moira. He also enjoyed watching and supporting the Potsdam State basketball as a booster. He was a member of Local 420, Glass and Steel Workers in Massena. With Doug's enthusiasm for children's sports, his family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to Brasher - Stockholm Recreation Commission, c/o Gina Beaulieu, P. 0. Box 40, Brasher Falls, NY 13613. David W. "Bill" ToloskyPlattsburgh — David W. "Bill" Tolosky, 73, of West Chazy, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Irona, N.Y., on April 20, 1930, the son of Tuffield and Eva (Jordan) Tolosky. He was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Stone; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Tania and Hal Moore of Camden, N.Y., and Kristine and Paul Priem of Albany, N.Y.; two brothers, Russel R. Tolosky of Chateaugay and Paul Tolosky of New Jersey; one grandchild, Tonya Ann Hodge; one great-granddaughter, Elizebeth Anne Hodge; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents, Tuffield and Eva Tolosky; a son, Steven Tolosky; and brother, Thomas Tolosky, all died before him. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at noon at St. John’s Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel in the spring. Memorial donations may be made to the FitzPatrick Cancer Center or the West Chazy Fire Department. The O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh is in charge of arrangements. John E. Johnson, 66, of Peru, died, Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. Mahlon T. Lareau, 79, of Keeseville, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville. Kathleen B. Sweeney of 321 Pearl St., Crown Point, N.Y., died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at her home. She was born at Huntington, L I., N.Y., on March 1, 1949, the daughter of Arthur Paul and Barbara (Evelyn) Honohan. There will be no funeral service at this time. Evelyn Langlois Rouselle, 84, of Catherine Street, Malone, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, Vt., where she had been a patient since Sunday. She was born in Teboville, N.Y., on March 7, 1919, the daughter of the late Levi and Agnes (Guyette) Marlow. Calling hours will be in the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone on Saturday from 10 until time for funeral services at Notre Dame Church in Malone at noon. Burial will be in St. Helen's Cemetery in Chasm Falls in the spring. Leola V. Bouchard, 84, of the Franklin County Nursing Home, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at that facility. She was born on Aug. 17, 1919, in Fort Covington, N.Y., the daughter of William J. and Augusta (Jock) Barney. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated later in the spring in St. Mary's Church, Fort Covington, N.Y. Spring burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery.
