Published: 2/19/04Philip CrumpTucson, Ariz. — Philip Crump, 64, of 9100 East 9th Street, Tucson, Ariz., 85710, formerly of North Lawrence and Plattsburgh died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at his home. Mr. Crump was employed by the First National Bank, Winthrop and was a bookkeeper for Johnson Industrial Painting in Plattsburgh before moving to Arizona. He was born Aug. 29, 1939, in North Lawrence, son of Harold and Ethel Vilnave Crump. He was a graduate of St. Lawrence Central School, Brasher Falls. He married Phyllis Johnson Sept. 24, 1960, at St. Helens Church, Chasm Falls with the Reverend Peter A. Ward officiating. He enjoyed music and playing the guitar, having played with bands in Winthrop, Brasher Falls, Malone, Plattsburgh and Tucson. Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, Michael of Tuscon; a daughter, Mrs. Lisa (Matthew) Houck, also of Tuscon; a brother and his wife, Gerald and Joyce Crump, Manvel, Texas; a twin sister, Phyllis Brown of North Lawrence; two grandchildren, J.T. and Jayda Houck, both of Tucson, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held at St. Francis DeSales Church in Tucson on Feb. 17, 2004. A burial service will be held in the spring in North Lawrence. Memorial donations may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital or the charity of your choice. Elisabeth Clara StarksStaunton, VA. — Elisabeth Clara Starks, 92, of 2425 Old Greenville Road, Staunton, Va., died at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at the residence of her niece and nephew after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was born Feb. 20, 1911, in Murnich, Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reuss. She attended the Church of the Good Shepherd in Folly Mills and was a retired governess. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. Wilhelm Christensen; her second husband of 45 years, Howard G. Storks; and one brother. She lived in German until the end of World War II, when she moved to New York City and lived in the Manhattan area. Survivors include her niece, Mamie Meyers and her husband Hal of which Mrs. Starks' had made her home. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Folly Miffs conducted by the Reverend Barbara Taylor. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Troy, N.Y. Active pallbearers will be Douglas Cochran, L.B. McCray, David Hennel, Derek Almarode, Evan Galbraith and Ralph Plaugher. The body will be taken to the residence Friday when the family will receive friends after 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd, in care of Reverend Barbara Taylor, 4695 Middlebrook Road, Middlebrook, VA 24459. Quick Jr., 41, formerly of Plattsburgh, and most recently of Watervliet, N.Y., passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at the Albany Medical Center Hospital in Albany, N.Y. He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Sept. 26, 1962, the son of William H. and Janet R. (Rabideau) Quick Sr. William was a graduate of Plattsburgh High School and at the time of his death he was project foreman for Moisture Barriers Roofing and Shoot Metal Corporation in Altamont, N.Y. He enjoyed working with his hands especially woodworking, cooking for many area restaurants in Plattsburgh and he enjoyed being out of doors. William was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Rita Rabideau; his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Willie Belle Quick; an uncle who was his best friend, Gary Rabideau. He is survived by his parents, William and Janet Quick Sr. of Plattsburgh; his daughters, Sarah and Kaitlyn; two sisters, Tammy LaRose and her husband Louis and their daughters Marlene and MaryBeth of Westport, N.Y., and Jody Johns and her husband Richard and their sons Richard and Jeremy of Clemmons, N.C.; his maternal grandfather, Richard Rabideau Sr. of Morrisonville; his wife, Mary Agnes Quick of Panama City Beach, Fla.; a special friend, Susan Barber of Watervliet, N.Y.; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive him. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 12 noon from St. Peter’s Church. Patricia (Patsy) White, 73, of North Bangor died following a long-term illness, Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004, at the Alice Hyde Hospital with her family at her bedside. She was born Feb. 1, 1931, at the Alice Hyde Hospital to James and Margaret Murray Finnegan. Visitation will be Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Bruso Desnoyers Funeral Services, Malone. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at St. Augustine's Catholic Church at 1 p.m. Friday with the Reverend Ray Moreau, presiding. A reception will follow at the church hall. Burial in Wylie Cemetery, North Bangor in the spring. David W. "Bill" Tolosky, 73, of West Chazy, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Arrangements are incomplete with O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A full obituary will be in Friday's paper. Abigail S. Miller, 93, a resident of Florence Groulx Residence, Hemmingford, Quebec, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at the residence. Abbie was born on March 14, 1910, in Kingston, Ontario, she was the daughter of Charles Bruce and Sophia Amelia (Myers) Collopy. There will be no calling hours or funeral services at this time. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 13 at 2 p.m. at St. Luke's Anglican Church in Hemmingford, Quebec. Burial will take place at a later date in the family plot at Trinity Anglican Church in Havelock, Quebec |
