Published: 2/16/04Joan Marie DillonTICONDEROGA — Joan Marie (Whitford) Dillon, 55, of Trout Brook Road, passed away Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at her residence. Born in Ticonderoga on Dec. 31, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Betty (Fitzgerald) Whitford. Dillon had been a lifelong resident of Ticonderoga. She was a graduate of Ticonderoga High School, class of 1967. Joan began her working career as a licensed practical nurse at the Glens Falls Hospital. She was then employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years and had been postmaster of Silver Bay, N.Y., for the past 17 years. Mrs. Dillon especially enjoyed gardening and raising her family pets. She was predeceased by her infant daughter, Jenny Dillon, and by one sister, Cynthia J. Sisson. Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Gary J. Dillon; two sons, Shawn P. Dillon of Ticonderoga, and Shane E. Dillon and his wife, Jessica, of Watervliet; one brother, Robert J. Whitford and his wife, Pam, of Marcellus, and one sister, Melissa Rosen and her companion, Karl, of Costa Mesa, Calif. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A funeral service will take place 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Donations in her memory may be made to High Peaks Hospice, P.O. Box 195, Mineville, NY 12956. ROBERT H. FOLSOM, 71, of Bloomingdale, died Saturday, February 14, 2004, at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Born in Saranac Lake on June 30, 1932, he was the son of Carl and Sabra (Reyome) Folsom. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home Inc. in Saranac Lake. A firefighter’s prayer service will take place at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with a Bible vigil service following. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Paul’s Church in Bloomingdale with the Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Following cremation, burial will be at St. Paul’s Cemetery in May. JEAN MARIE GODIN, 69, of 15 Church St., Tupper Lake, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake. Born on March 9, 1934, in Tupper Lake, she was the daughter of Frank and Marian (Prespare) Godin. Calling hours will be held at the Fortune-Keough-Rennell Funeral Home in Tupper Lake from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 tonight. A Mass of Christian burial will take place 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Alphonsus Church in Tupper Lake with the Rev. Donald Kramberg officiating. Interment will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in May. |
