Rigmor Cross

ELIZABETHTOWN — Rigmor "Lill" Cross, 79, of 44 Lawrence Way, and formerly of Lewis, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at the Horace Nye Nursing Home in Elizabethtown.

She was born April 18, 1924 in Drammen, Norway, the daughter of Sverre and Astrid (Dillerue) Nearup.

She is survived by four daughters and their spouses, Jane and Ed Grzanowski of Lewis, Joyce and Tracy Spooner of Lewis, Janet Cross of Elizabethtown, Jackie and Ernie Lamoureux of Middleboro, Mass.; six grandchildren, Sean and Michelle Spooner, Silas and Lindsay Viens, Clay and Kent Cross, Alicia Cavanagh, Gregory Silveira and Jennifer Lamoureux; and one great-granddaughter, Melina Muzzy. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Inger Hefte, and a son, John "Beany" Cross.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at W.M. Marvin’s Sons funeral home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the United Church of Christ in Elizabethtown. Burial will be held in the spring in the Lewis Cemetery. Donations in Lill’s memory may be made to the Elizabethtown-Lewis Ambulance Squad or to the Elizabethtown Fire Department or to the United Church of Christ in Elizabethtown.

Pamela J. Johnson

PLATTSBURGH — Pamela J. "Pam" Johnson, 56, of Spaulding Drive, passed away Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at the CVPH Medical Center with her family by her side.

She was born in Plattsburgh on Sept. 29, 1947, the daughter of Maynard Alfred and Clara June (Wilson) Senecal. Pamela was a member of St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville and a member of the choir. She worked at Diamond International and retired from Twin State Communications due to illness.

Pamela was predeceased by her parents Maynard and Clara Senecal and a brother, Jerry Senecal.

She is survived by her companion, William Gay of Plattsburgh; her brothers, Harry Bruch and his wife Diane of Herndon, Va.; Bruce Bruch and his wife, Robyn, of Arlington, Va.; Terry Senecal and his wife Victoria of Plattsburgh; her nieces and nephews, Jerry Senecal, Rachel Senecal, Jessie Senecal, Denise Jones, Stephanie Pitstick, Brandon Vantassel and Joseph Zaso.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville.

Interment will be at a later date in Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh.

Friends wishing may make donations to the American Cancer Society.

Jeanne F. Rozon

PLATTSBURGH — Jeanne F. Rozon, of Chateaugay, died Feb. 6, 2004 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Chateaugay, the daughter of Edward M. and Marie (Jones) Rozon.

Ms. Rozon graduated from Chateaugay High School and Adirondack Business School in Malone. She was employed as a private secretary to a professor of forestry at Syracuse University and at New York State Electric and Gas Corporation in Chateaugay for about 10 years. She then took a position as a civilian clerk with the New York State Police at Troop B Headquarters in Malone until her retirement in 1980.

She was predeceased by a twin brother, John L. Rozon, in 1977, and her parents. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ms. Rozon was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Chateaugay, where a Memorial Mass has been set for 10 a.m. Feb. 16, 2004, the Rev. John Demo officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Chateaugay Memorial Library or Chateaugay Fire Department.

Arrangements are with the Chateaugay Funeral Home.

Genevieve E. Lavalley

BURLINGTON — Mrs. Genevieve E. Lavalley, 79, of Rabideau Street in Cadyville, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004 at Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington. She was born in Mooers Forks on June 6, 1924, the daughter of the late Arthur and Nellie (Lavalley) Rabideau.

She was married to Philip Lavalley on Aug. 20, 1942 in Mooers Forks, where they farmed until their retirement in 1975. Genevieve enjoyed crocheting, crafts, needlepoint and reading. She was a member of St. James Minor Church in Cadyville.

Genevieve is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Judy and Jacques LaRiviere of Carson, Iowa and Suzanne and Ronald Charette of Cadyville; two sisters, Winifred LeFevbre of Plattsburgh and Lucille Rabideau of Redmond, Wash.; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by Philip, her husband of 55 years; three sons, Wayne Lavalley, Lester Lavalley and Douglas Lavalley; one brother; and one grandchild.

Calling hours will be Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Cadyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at 10 a.m. from St. James Minor Church in Cadyville. Burial will be at a later date in St. Ann’s Cemetery in Mooers Forks.

Donations in her name may be made to the Cadyville Fire Department.

BRUCE D. BARRY SR., 59, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

He was born in Lake Placid on July 5, 1944, the son of John D. and Kathryn Sears Barry.

Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tonight. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Adirondack Community Church in Lake Placid.

Burial will be in the North Elba Cemetery in Lake Placid in May.

Memorial donations may be made to the Lake Placid Police Department Benevolent Association, Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department, High Peaks Hospice or the Adirondack Medical Center.

JOAN DeCOTEAU, 54, of Lake Road, Chateaugay Lake, died Feb. 7, 2004.

She was born in Plattsburgh on Sept. 28, 1949, the daughter of Frank and Harriet (Garrow) Veivie.

There are no calling hours; funeral services are rpivate and at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are with the Chateaugay Funeral Home.

LUKE FORD JR., 73, of Pearlanf, Texas, and formerly of Plattsburgh, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas.

He was born in Biloxi, Miss., on Jan. 7, 1931, the son of Luke Ford Sr. and Bertha (Haymore) Ford.

Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home.

Funeral serices are 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home chapel.

Entombment will follow in Whispering Maples Mausoleum in Plattsburgh.
