Published: 10/30/04Ernest A. GirardWestport — Ernest A. Girard, of Horace Nye Home, formerly of Westport, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004. He was born the youngest of six children on Aug. 5, 1910, in West Boylston, Mass., the son of Antonio and Rosa (Vincent) Girard. Ernie was the owner and operator of Ernie's Market and of the Westport Liquor store and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a long time member of the Westport Fire Department and the Westport Fish and Game Club and was an avid fisherman. He is survived by one son, Ernest Girard Jr. of Chicopee, Mass., and Leesburg, Fla.; one daughter and son - in - law, Sharon and Philip Hutchins of Elizabethtown; 11 grandchildren; several great - grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Florence (Smith) Girard, on Jan. 23, 1987; one daughter, Gail LaBombard; and a daughter-in-law, Judy Girard. No calling hours will be held. A funeral Mass will be held Monday, Feb. 9th at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth's in Elizabethtown. Burial will be held in the spring in St. Philip Neri Cemetery in Westport. Donations in Ernie's memory may be made to the Horace Nye Home, 81 Park St., Elizabethtown, NY 12932. Arrangements are with W.M. Marvin's Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Genevieve E. LavalleyBurlington, Vt. — Mrs. Genevieve E. Lavalley, 79, of Rabideau Street in Cadyville, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, Vt. She was born in Mooers Forks on June 6, 1924, daughter of the late Arthur and Nellie (Lavalley) Rabideau. Genevieve enjoyed crocheting, crafts, needlepoint and reading. She was a member of St. James Minor Church in Cadyville. Genevieve is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Judy and Jacques LaRiviere of Carson, Iowa, and Suzanne and Ronald Charette of Cadyville; two sisters, Winifred LeFevbre of Plattsburgh and Lucille Rabideau of Redmond, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; eight great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by three sons, Wayne Lavalley, Lester Lavalley and Douglas Lavalley; one brother; two sisters; and a grandchild. Calling hours will be Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Cadyville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at 10 a.m. from St. James Minor Church in Cadyville. Burial will be at a later date in St. Ann's Cemetery in Mooers Forks. Donations in her memory may be made to Cadyville Fire Department. Mackenzie Ryan ClarkMoreton, Vt. — Mackenzie Ryan Clark, infant delivered on Feb. 3, 2004, at Central Vermont Hospital. He was the son of Stephen and Nicole (St. John) Clark of Moretown, Vt. He is survived by his parents; maternal grandparents, John C. and Bonita St. John of Cadyville, N.Y.; paternal grandparents, Roger and Barbara Clark of Jericho, Vt.; maternal great-grandfather Donald Miner of Redford, N.Y.; paternal great-grandmother, Elizabeth Cook of New Hartford, N.Y.; and several aunts and uncles. A memorial Mass will be said on Feb. 14, 2004, at noon at St. Patrick's Church in Moretown, Vt. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Pl., Memphis, TN 38105. Tulip, 70, of Duane Street, Malone, N.Y., died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at her home, while under the loving care of her family and Hospice of the North Country, Inc. She was born in Saranac Lake, N.Y., on Feb. 23, 1933, the daughter of the late Fred and Gladys (Williams) Willett. Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church in Malone. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery on the Lake Titus Road in Malone in the spring. Robert L. Patten, 82, of Elm Street, Malone, N.Y., and formerly of Lawrenceville, N.Y., died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone. He had been a patient there since January 28th. He was born in Lawrenceville on Jan. 8, 1922, the son of the late Howard and Grace (Dupee) Patten. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 9 until 11 a.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Matt Molnar officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Lawrenceville in the spring. Deborah L. Robideau, 51, of County Rte 27, Owls Head, N.Y., died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, N.Y. She had been a patient there since January 24th. She was born in Malone on Feb. 22, 1952, the daughter of Harold P. and Doris Mae (Ashley) Spencer. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Neil McClain officiating. Burial will be in the Stevens Cemetery in Brandon, N.Y., in the spring. |
