Published: 12/19/03Millie ComiteElizabethtown, N.Y. — Millie Comite, 93, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at Horace Nye Nursing Home in Elizabethtown. She was born July 10, 1910, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of Marie and Angelo Comite. Millie is survived by two nieces, Maria Karkoski of Moriah and Patricia Cummiskey of Staten IsIand; and two nephews, Anthony Comite of Florida and John Duane of New Jersey. She is also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews. Calling hours will be held Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Church of All Saints in Mineville. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Elizabethtown in the spring. Donations may be made in memory of Millie to the Horace Nye Nursing Home in Elizabethtown. Ida E. Surprenant, 89, of Mooers Forks, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at the Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Mooers. The Ladies of St. Ann will meet at 7:30 p.m. and Mooers Knights of Columbus Council 6136 will meet at 8 p.m. for services. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday from St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks. Interment will be in the parish cemetery in the spring.
