DiTucci, 90, of Douglaston, N.Y., died suddenly on Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, surrounded by her loving family at LIJ Hospital, Lake Success, N.Y. She was born in New York City on Oct. 20, 1913, the daughter of Serfino and Angela DeCarlo. She was a homemaker and especially enjoyed cooking, crafts and spending time with her family. She is survived by one son, Charles and Joellen DiTucci of Glen Oaks; and three daughters, Catherine and Jerry Piller of Saranac, Dorothy and Steven LaMere of Douglaston, N.Y., and Lorraine McCue and Charles Wilson of Glen Oaks; ten grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Theresa; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Charlie in May 1976. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, by the Rev. Msgr. Cantley at St. Anastasia Church, Douglaston, N.Y., where she was a communicant for many years. Interment followed at Mount St. Mary's Cemetery, Flushing, N.Y. Josephine was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by all her family and friends. Elizabeth A. BakerChamplain — Elizabeth A. Baker, 56, of Champlain, passed away Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born Aug. 6, 1947, in Plattsburgh, the daughter of Louis E. and Hattie (Farr) O’Lena. Her parents predeceased her. Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Louis G. and Deborah O’Lena of Champlain; several nieces and nephews, Brian O’Lena, Lisa O’Lena, Brandy Kenny and her husband Eric, Ben Hough and Jennifer Rock and her husband Michael. Several great-nieces and nephews also survive her. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, at St. Mary's Church in Champlain. Wallace F. Dumas, 92, of 4 Lane St., Malone, N.Y., died Thursday evening, Dec. 11, 2003, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Kathy Dumas of Malone, while under the loving care of his family and Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Malone, on Sept. 10, 1911, the son of the late William and Celina (Degon) Dumas. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. John Bosco Church in Malone, with the Rev. Tom Moody officiating. Burial will be in St. John Bosco Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc. of Malone. Leon E. (Lee) Strack, 78, of Balsam Street, Lake Placid, N.Y., died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at Uihlein Mercy Center where he had been a resident since April 1994. He was born in Lake Placid on Sept. 16, 1925, the son of Leon P. and Lena (Smith) Strack. There are no calling hours. After cremation, a memorial Mass will be offered on Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at noon at the Uihlein Mercy Center Chapel. Rev. Patrick O'Reilly , chaplain, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery in the spring. The Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid is in charge of arrangements. Margaret E. White, 83, of 60 Church St., Saranac Lake, died Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2003, at the Adirondack Medical Center at Saranac Lake. She was born in Lisbon, N.Y., on March 17, 1920, the daughter of Michael and Julia (Billings) White. There will be no calling hours or funeral services. The Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake is in charge of arrangements. Arthur J. Jardine, 67, of the Irish Settlement Road, Plattsburgh, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in West Swanzey, N.H., on July 29, 1936, the son of Victor and Mary (Rixford) Jardine. There will be no public calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Church of the Nazarene in Plattsburgh. |
