Geraldine J. Duley

PLATTSBURGH — Geraldine J. Duley, 92, of Vilas Home and formerly of North Catherine Street, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at CVPH Skilled Nursing Facility.

She was born Jan. 10, 1911, in Plattsburgh, the only child of William H. and Lottie (Praria) Duley.

Miss Gerry graduated from Plattsburgh schools and medical assistant training in Massachusetts in 1932. She was a medical assistant with several doctors including Dr. Edwin Sartwell of Plattsburgh. She also cared for the elderly and infirmed in their homes, the children of several Plattsburgh families and was nursery attendant at First Assembly of God for over 25 years.

She was a member of the Community Concert Association, the American Registry of Medical Assistants and the AARP.

"Miss Gerry" is the last of her family line. She is survived by very dear friends, Barb and Wolf Mattes of Cumberland Head, with whom she spent a lot of time as part of the family. Several cousins and many close friends also survive.

Calling hours will be at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Michael San Soucie, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial will be at a later date at West Chazy Rural Cemetery in the family plot.

Memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.

Mary T. Fellion

Constable, N.Y. — Mary T. Fellion, 82, of the Irish Street Road, Constable, N.Y., died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, as a result of an automobile accident in Malone, N.Y.

She was born in Sutton, Mass., on Feb. 28, 1921, the daughter of the late Bernard and Rosanne (Blair) Maloney.

On July 23, 1943, she was united in marriage to Francis F. Fellion in Worcester, Mass. He predeceased her on May 16, 1983.

Along with her husband, they owned and operated Fellion's Diamond Corner in Malone from 1946 until 1985. In 1985, her son Victor Fellion assumed ownership of the family business and she remained as an integral part of the business.

She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Constable and a member of their Altar Rosary Society and Parish Council. She enjoyed flying and travel.

Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law, George Fellion of Canton, N.Y., Marshall and Sandra Fellion of Constable and Victor Fellion and his companion Tracy Paquin of Malone; eight grandchildren; five great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Constable. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Francis Flynn officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in the spring.

Donations may be made in her memory to St. Francis of Assisi Church.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc. of Malone.

David S. Duval

Peru — David S. Duval, 60, of the Calkins Road, Peru, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Plattsburgh on Aug. 13, 1943, the son of William and Bessie (Lovely) Duval.

David worked at Everett's Orchard in Peru for many years.

He was a member of the Peru Rod and Gun Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He enjoyed four wheeling and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Lillybell M. (Bushey) Duval of Peru; four daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and William Neyer of Schuyler Falls, Iris Duval and Wilfred Boyd of Plattsburgh, Donna Duval of Albany and Mary Duval and Keith LaBombard of Schuyler Falls; 15 grandchildren; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Clint Duval; and daughter, Judith Duval.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church in Peru with Rev. Gilbert Menard, retired, celebrating. Burial will be in the spring in the parish cemetery.

Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association.

Gerald F. "Jerry" LaBombard

AuSable Forks —

Gerald F. "Jerry" LaBombard, 72, of Fern Lake, formerly of Nalcrest, Fla., a well known and respected local musician, died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Plattsburgh on Nov. 20, 1931, the son of Moses N. and Beatrice (Prevost) LaBombard.

Jerry graduated from Mount Assumption Institute in 1949.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1953 and was a member of the Air Force Band.

He was employed at Gordon's Drug Store, 1954 to 1957; M.P. Myer's Wholesale, 1957 to 1959; U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier from 1959 until his retirement in 1987; and the Plattsburgh Press - Republican for six years, from 1991 to 1997.

He has been a member of the Peru Lions Club since 1969 and the St. Augustine's Council 7273 Knight's of Columbus since 1980. His Lions Club Awards include Melvin Jones Fellowship; Robert J. Uplinger Award, District 20-W; and Lion of the Year Award 1980 and 1985.

Survivors include his wife, Dawne A. (LaVoie) LaBombard of Fern Lake; two sons, Kevin LaBombard of Plattsburgh and Keith LaBombard and companion Mary Duval of Schuyler Falls; one daughter and son-in-law, Kerri and Todd Ormsby of Fern Lake; grandchildren Randy, Brian and Robbie LaBombard of Plattsburgh, Jade Lakers of Morrisonville, Kyle and Kallista LaBombard of Schuyler Falls and Jason and Jessica Ormsby of Fern Lake; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Curtis M. LaBombard.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at St. Augustine's Church in Peru with Rev. William Reamer, chaplain at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, celebrating. Burial will be in the spring in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the New York State Lions Youth Band.

Cassie L. Beckett, 25, of 39 Constable St., Malone, N.Y., died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, as a result of a automobile accident in Malone,

She was born in Malone on Aug. 18, 1978, the daughter of John and Peggy (Lancto) Beckett.

Calling hours will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Notre Dame Church in Malone. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in Malone in the spring.

Willis (Ben) Haywood, 80, of Wasson Street, Witherbee, N.Y., died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born at Island Pond, Vt., on July 31, 1923, the son of William and Ina (Bumps) Haywood.

There will be no public calling hours. Funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Harland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

JudY I. Sperry, 75, of 71F Cornelia St., Plattsburgh, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility.

She was born in Saranac Lake, N.Y., on Feb. 24, 1928, the daughter of Harland and Edna (Williams) Sperry.

The R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh is in charge of arrangements which are incomplete.
