Louise B. Mulcahy

Plattsburgh — Louise B. Mulcahy, 93, of Beekman Street and formerly of Albany, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Troy on June 17, 1910, daughter of the late Alexander and Katherine (Booth) Bain.

She married Robert Hillard Mulcahy on Nov. 12, 1933, who preceded her on May 10, 1977. She was also predeceased by a sister, Katherine Bain.

While living in Albany, Mrs. Mulcahy was a volunteer for many civic and religious organizations. After moving to Plattsburgh in 1993 to be near her family, she continued her volunteer work at CVPH Medical Center, the Kent-Delord House and the Ladies of Charity. She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Altar Rosary Society.

Mrs. Mulcahy is survived by a daughter, Sheila Mulcahy Wylie of Plattsburgh; her grandchildren, Gregory S. Wylie of Burlington, Vt., Mary Elizabeth Wylie of Kingston, Ontario, and Andrew and Natalie Wylie of Plattsburgh. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Alexander R. Wylie, Henry M. Wylie, Jack A. Wylie and Peter Joseph Wylie of Plattsburgh and Molly Mulcahy Cordell and Katherine Elizabeth Cordell, both of Kingston, Ontario.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at 10 a.m. from St. John the Baptist Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will in the St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands, N.Y.

Donations in Mrs. Mulcahy’s memory may be made to the Seton Catholic Central Capital Campaign at 5135 North Catherine St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901.

Arrangements are with the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Roger Bigelow

BRISTOL, Ct. — Roger Bigelow, 86, of 147 Marconi Ave., Bristol, husband of Ruth L. (McGee) Bigelow, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at Plainville Healthcare Center, Plainville.

Born in Dannemora, NY, on July 2, 1917, a son of the late John and Pearl (Hoff) Bigelow, he lived in Bristol for several years.

He was a correction officer for the state of New York for 36 years, retiring in 1976. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a 31-year member of the BPOE #1010 and a 57-year member of the American Legion.

Besides his wife, he leaves one son, Roger J. Bigelow of Chazy Lake; three daughters, Sheri Thompson of Bristol, Kandi Banko of Wallingford, CT, and Kelli Klemonski of Bristol; a sister, Ruth Banks of Fountain Valley, CA; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at DuPont Funeral Home, 25 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, with the Rev. Dr. Mark Hansen, pastor of St. John’s Episcopal Church, officiating. Visitation will be Saturday one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in New York.

Carl O. Wilbur

MALONE — Carl O. Wilbur, 90, of Constable, died on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003 at Alice Hyde Nursing Home where he had been a patient for three years.

His wife of 64 years, Rada Williams Wilbur, survives. They were married in 1939 at Our Lady of Lakes Church in Oquossac, Maine.

Carl was born in Lewiston, Maine and lived most of his life in Constable. In his early years, he worked as a chef at the Lake Placid Club and in New York City. He moved to Constable in 1942 and worked at Alcoa Massena for a few years. He later served as Steward for the Malone Lodge of Elks, American Legion and Knights of Columbus. He was last employed by the Franklin County Nursing Home as food service director for 15 years, retiring in 1980.

He was a 66-year member of the Knights of Columbus, third degree, and past member of the Malone Lodge of Elks. He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assissi Church and had served on the parish council.

Carl was especially proud to be one of a small group who founded the Constable Volunteer Fire Department in 1952. He remained an active member for many years.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Rada, are two daughters and sons-in-law; Maureen and Ragel Dominic of Phoenix, N.Y. and Theresa and James Vogel of Rochester, N.Y.

There are six grandchildren; Christopher Dominic and Craig Dominic of Baldwinsville, N.Y., Colleen Dominic Race of Liverpool, N.Y., Matthew Vogel of Madina, Ohio, Karl Vogel of Mystic, Conn., and Michele Self of Virginia Beach, Va.

There are nine great-grandchildren.

Carl was predeceased by his parents, Otto and Margaret Wilbur, and four sisters; Ethel Hewes, Anna Haskell, Marjorie Stevens and Collette Jordan.

Calling hours are scheduled for noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29 at St. Francis of Assissi Church in Constable.

A funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assissi Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, following calling hours.

Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.

Contributions in memory of Carl may be made to St. Francis of Assissi Church and the Constable Volunteer Fire Department.

Funeral arrangements are through St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home.

MONA F. WRIGHT, 70, of County Route 345 in Madrid died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at the Canton Potsdam Hospital in Potsdam.

Arrangements were incomplete Thursday with Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
