Hattie U. Sayre

Westport — Hattie U. Sayre, 93, formerly of Champlain Avenue, Westport, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at the Horace Nye Nursing Home in Elizabethtown.

She was born in Westport on March 6, 1910, the daughter of William and Carrie (Bouchard) Smith.

Mrs. Sayre was a nurses aide at Horace Nye.

She was a member of the Senior Circle of Westport and the Ladies Aid of Wadhams.

She especially enjoyed painting.

Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Lambert and fiancé Robert Cook of Crown Point; one grandson, Stanley Lambert of Westport; and one sister, Amy Pele of Albany.

She was predeceased by her husband, Fred B. Sayre, on Feb. 2, 1995; three brothers, William, Robert and Jack; and one sister, Anna Holway.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Westport. A funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Westport with Georgianna T. Anson officiating. Committal prayers will follow in the Wadhams Riverside Cemetery.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Westport Emergency Squad or the Horace Nye Garden.

Elizabeth F. Daly

Cumberland Head — Elizabeth F. Daly, 81, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Brooklyn on Aug. 6, 1922, the daughter of Henry Clay and Grace M. (Tempany) Richards.

She was a member of St. Mary's of the Lake Church and the St. Mary's of the Lake Ladies. She was also a member of the A.A.R.P., the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and senior citizens groups.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard L. Daly of Cumberland Head and Dennis C. and Amanda Daly of Malone; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda A. and John White of Plattsburgh; a granddaughter; and a great-grandchild.

Her husband, Lawrence R. Daly, died on June 11, 1985. A brother, John Richards and a grandson also died earlier.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the O'Neill - Redden - Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday from St. Mary's of the Lake Church on Cumberland Head. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Society for the Propagation of the Faith or the American Lung Association.

Dolores Irene (Sanchagrin) (Starace) Smith

Crockett, Calif. — Dolores Irene (Sanchagrin) (Starace) Smith, 56, died on Nov. 17, 2003, at her residence in Crockett, Calif.

She was born on June 22, 1947, in Rouses Point, N.Y., and had lived in the Denville, N.J., area for 20 years and in Crockett, Calif., for 11 years.

She had worked for three years as a loan processor for the PGM Mortgage Company in Richmond, Calif., and prior to that, as an administrative assistant at West County Times in Hilltop, Calif.

She was a member of the Redeye Investment Club, a notary public for the State of California and a supporter of Paralyzed Veterans Association and the American Cancer Society.

She is survived by her husband of 13 years, David W. Smith, of Crockett, Calif.; two daughters, Trisha D. Sanders of Elizabethtown, Pa., and Laurie-Ann Malecki, of Decatur, Ga.; her mother, Bernice Sanchagrin of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; two sisters, Patricia Babbie of Peru, N.Y., and Kathleen Ketcik of Maple Shade, N.J.; two brothers, Michael P. Sanchagrin of Modesto, Calif., and Arthur Sanchagrin of Orlando, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Julia C. Sanders and Devin Malecki.

Calling hours will be held at the Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville, N.J., (973- 627-1880) on Tuesday, Nov. 25th, from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 26th, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home for a Liturgy of Christian burial at 10:45 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Denville.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 669 Littleton Rd., Parsippany, NJ 07054.

Muriel K. Grady, 78, formally of Cascade Acres, Lake Placid, passed away Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at the Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid, where she had been a resident since Feb. 9, 2000.

Muriel was born in Lake Placid on March 23, 1925, the daughter of Edgar J. and Margaret Kennedy.

Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid on Monday, Nov. 24th, from 5 to 8 p.m. A Bible vigil service will be held at the funeral home Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, Nov. 25th, at 11 a.m. at Saint Agnes Church in Lake Placid. Rev. Patrick O'Reilly, chaplain of Uihlein Mercy Center, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Saint Agnes Cemetery.

AnnaBelle DuBray, 84, formerly of Redford, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at the United Helpers Nursing Home in Ogdensburg.

Arrangements were incomplete Saturday evening at the O'Neill - Redden - Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Glenn David Delair, 56, of Main Street in Tupper Lake, died unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at his home.

Calling hours will be held at the Richer Funeral Home on Monday, Nov. 24th, from 5 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 25th, at Holy Name Church at 11 a.m., with Rev. Donald Kramberg officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Name Cemetery.

Virginia W. Burrell, 96, formerly of the River Road in Peru, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home in Plattsburgh.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru.
