Donald F. Kelley

Plattsburgh — Mr. Donald F. Kelley, 56, of Carter Court, Plattsburgh, passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, Vt.

He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Dec. 26, 1946, the son of James and Jennette (Langlois) Kelley.

Donald graduated from Our Lady of Victory School in 1966 and served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1966 to 1973. He worked at Imperial Paper Mill until it closed and was currently working at Bombardier Transport. Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He was a member of St. Augustine's Church in Peru.

Donald was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Aley.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis E. (Thurber) Kelley of Plattsburgh; they were married Nov. 19, 1966; a son, Shane Kelley and his wife Penney of Plattsburgh; a daughter, Donna Kelley and her companion James Farrell of Cumberland Head; his parents, James and Jennette Kelley of Plattsburgh; a brother, Richard Kelley and his wife Susan of Plattsburgh; a sister, Marie Moore and her companion Brad Trombley of Plattsburgh; four grandchildren, Spencer Gomez, Caitlin Gomez, Hunter Gomez and Cali Elizabeth Kelley; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. only at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church in Peru. Interment will follow in St. Augustine's Cemetery.

Norman J. Racine

Rouses Point — Mr. Norman J. Racine, 57, of Smith Street, Rouses Point, passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with his wife and children by his side.

He was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Jan. 11, 1946, the son of Allyre and Annette (Roy) Racine.

He graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Champlain and Plattsburgh State University. He taught French at Northwood School in Lake Placid for three years. Norman joined the U.S. Customs service in 1970. He retired as a supervisory inspector in June 2001. He was active in the Rouses Point Fire Department for 11 years and became an exempt member in 1985. He was also a member of the Champlain Knights of Columbus and attended St. Patrick's Church in Rouses Point.

His parents, Allyre and Annette Racine; as well as his father-in law, George O. Bombardier, predeceased him.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patricia (Bombardier); a daughter and son-in law, Michelle and Scott Wilson and a daughter and son-in law, Danielle and James Melanson; a son and daughter-in law, N. John and Samantha Racine; and three grandchildren, Wesley and Whitney Wilson and Larry Nichols. He is also survived by his brothers, Robert, Allen and Peter; as well as his two sisters, Celine Paquette and Carmen McGarry; and many nieces and nephews.

Among his many hobbies were wood-working, hunting, fishing and gardening.

Calling hours will be Sunday, Nov. 23rd, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Clark's Funeral Home in Rouses Point. A funeral service will be held at St. Patrick's Church in Rouses Point on Monday, Nov. 24th, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to St. Ann's Shrine's capital fund in Isle LaMott.

Ralph R. Decker

Westport, N.Y. — Ralph R. Decker, 89, of Westport, N.Y., passed away Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at the Community Hospital, Elizabethtown, N.Y.

Ralph was born in Westport, N.Y., on July 31, 1914, the son of Rueben and Jenny (Goodroe) Decker. He was united in marriage to Lorraine Sears on Feb. 21, 1937. Together they ran the Airport Service Station in the 1940's and then owned and operated Decker's Garage and Service Station until retirement.

He was well known for his knowledge and expertise on the Model T and Model A Fords, having restored many of them. He supplied many people with parts and information. His many hobbies included gardening, lawn mowing and cutting and splitting wood.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Decker; his son, James Decker; and his brother, Earl Decker, all of Westport; also survived by several nieces and nephews; and many relatives and close friends.

He was predeceased by his brother, John Decker; and his sister-in-law, Ruth Decker.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home, Port Henry. A graveside service will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at the Black River Cemetery, Westport.

Memorial donations in Ralph's memory may be made to the Westport Emergency Squad, Westport, NY.

Cora M. Boswell Cody

Troy, N.Y. — Cora M. Boswell Cody, 86, formerly of North Troy, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at VanRensselaer Manor.

She was born in Pittsford, Vt., the daughter of the late William and Blanche (Place) Baird.

She was educated in schools in Plattsburgh and had resided in Port Kent before moving to the Troy area in 1997.

She is predeceased by her husbands, Joseph F. Cody and Harrison Boswell.

She is survived by her daughters, Myr C. Roche of Bossier City, La., and Stanza A. Rettinger of North Troy; and her grandchildren, Shauna Metcalf, Shaelyn Neal and Shelley Chapin. Four great - grandchildren also survive.

A sister, Jane Baird, predeceased her.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at 7 p.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Waterford. Interment will be in the spring at St. Augustine’s Cemetery in Peru, N.Y.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., Waterford, NY 12188.

Betty L. LaFleur, 57, of 53 Cedar St., Malone, N.Y., died unexpectedly Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, after being stricken at her home,

She was born in Malone on July 11, 1946, the daughter of Lawrence and Elizabeth (Brooks) Pond.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 9 until 9:45 a.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in the family lot at the Pond Home on Constable Street in Malone.

Elizabeth F. Daly, 81, of Cumberland Head, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

Arrangements were incomplete Friday evening at the O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
