Sarah L. Beauchemin

Saranac — Sarah L. Beauchemin, 79, of Picketts Corners Road, Saranac, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Dannemora on Sept. 29, 1924, the daughter of Ernest and Norma (Tedford) Lyman.

She married Robert F. Beauchemin on Nov. 12, 1943, in Tennessee.

She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Sarah's family and many dear friends will miss her more than words can say.

She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Russell; and a sister, Marjorie White.

She leaves her husband, Robert; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Sherry Beauchemin of Northport, Fla., and Dale and Joan Beauchemin of Burlington, Vt. She also leaves Jill Piche, the beloved mother of Sarah's two grandsons, Joseph and James. Sarah also leaves her brother, Earl; sisters, Mildred Thompson and Mary Drollette; and her dear aunt, Harriet Sullivan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Church of the Assumption in Redford. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Stella M. Swinton

Ticonderoga

Stella M. Swinton, 92, of Ticonderoga passed away Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at the Moses-Ludington Nursing Home of Ticonderoga.

She was born in Ticonderoga, Aug. 10, 1911, the daughter of the late Frank and Rhoda (Fleming) Noel.

Mrs. Swinton was a lifelong Ticonderoga resident. She was employed by J.J. Newberry's of Ticonderoga, as a sales clerk, for many years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ticonderoga and the Gideons.

She was predeceased by her husband, Elwin L. Swinton on Sept. 25, 1986; and also by one son, Ronald E. Swinton in 1948.

Survivors include one son, Charles L. Swinton of Ticonderoga; and one daughter, Joan S. Walker of Lake George. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two nephews; and one niece.

Relatives and friends may call Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin Street, Ticonderoga. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Paul L. Dufford Jr., pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Ticonderoga, will officiate. Interment will take place Saturday at the family plot of the Valley View Cemetery of Ticonderoga.

Clifford G. Jewell

Syracuse — Clifford G. Jewell, 85, of Syracuse passed away Monday Nov. 17, 2003, at his home.

He was born in Memphis, he resided in Syracuse since 1962.

He retired from Marine Midland Bank and Potts Mobil Service.

His wife Ruth died in 1985.

Surviving are his daughter, Judith( Jeff) Layhee of Cadyville, N.Y.; his sister, Winifred (Joe) Mocyk of Baldwinsville; two brothers, T. Wesley Jewell of Jordan and Walter (Joanne) Jewell of Elbridge; two grandchildren, Amy (Scott) Ashline and Michael (Lisa) Layhee; four great-granddaughters, Morgan and Regan Ashline and Brooke and Olivia Layhee; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at 1 p.m. at Butler-Badman Funeral Home Inc., 4504 West Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse, N.Y. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Jordan. Friends may call Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association or to the S.P.C.A.

Mary Ann Gordon

Keeseville — Mary Ann Gordon, 69, of the Mace Chasm Road, Keeseville, passed quietly into the arms of a loving God, Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at her home under the devoted care of her husband, Pat and her children.

She was born in Endicott, April 10, 1934, the daughter of John and Anna (Federko) Wolfe.

Mary Ann was a graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing in Rochester and worked as an RN before raising her family. She was a 4-H leader, Girl Scout leader and supporter of St. John's School in Plattsburgh. She was also a member of the Immaculate Conception Altar Rosary Society.

Survivors include her husband, Warren "Pat" Gordon; her mother, Anna (Federko) Wolfe; her children, their spouses and 12 grandchildren, Beth, Chester, Ryan and Chloe Mazzone; Jo, Roger, Lee and Meghan Case; Tim, Marilu, Patrick, Suzanne and Zachary Gordon; and Maureen, Darcy, Ashley, Joanna, Ronald, Marcee and Gordon Pray; her brother and sister-in-law, John R. and Ann Marie Wolfe; her sister, Christine Marino; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father, John; an infant son, David Michael; and one nephew, John R. Wolfe Jr.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Keeseville with Monsignor Leeward J. Poissant, pastor, celebrating, and Monsignor Joseph Aubin, retired, concelebrating. Committal prayers will follow in the parish cemetery.

Donations in her memory may be made to St. Ann's Shrine, Isle LaMonte, Vermont or to High Peaks Hospice of Essex County, P.O. Box 195, Mineville, NY.

Rebecca J. Clausen

Altona — Rebecca J. Clausen, 46, of Altona, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at her residence.

She was born in Plattsburgh on June 21, 1957, the daughter of Edward E. and Bertha (Gay) Guerin.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Clausen; two sons, Scott Guerin and Gerald Clausen, both of Altona; a daughter, Robin Guerin and her companion Shawn VanCour of Champlain; a stepdaughter, Trina Guerin and Timmy Guerin of Mooers; her mother, Bertha Guerin of Ellenburg Depot; eight brothers and six sisters-in-law, Edward and Mary Guerin of Mooers Forks, Larry and Shirley Guerin of Ellenburg Depot, Gary and Margaret Guerin of Ellenburg Depot, Donald and Brenda Guerin of Ellenburg, David and Sonny Guerin of Mineville, Victor Guerin of Ellenburg Center, Henry Guerin of Ellenburg Center, Howard and Mary Guerin of Mooers Forks; eight sisters and brothers-in-law, Stella and Raymond Perry of Altona, Deborah and Timmy Lord of Chateaugay, Sheila and Rusty Dupee of Mooers, Connie and Danny Russell of Ellenburg, Barbara and Betty Guerin of Ellenburg Depot, Loretta and Jerry Guerin of Altona, Brenda and Sam Bisonette of Chazy, Pamela and Red Provost of Ellenburg Center; eight grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her father, Edward Guerin; and a brother, John Guerin died before her.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday from St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Frederick H. "Fred" Martin

Racine, Wis. — Frederick "Fred" H. Martin, 55, of Racine, Wis., and formerly of New York, passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Racine, Wis.

He was born in Potsdam, N.Y., April 28, 1948, son of Leon A. and Cynthia (Nee: Cutler) Martin Sr.

Fred was a graduate of Potsdam Central High School and SUNY Brockport, N.Y., receiving his Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Mathematics. Furthering his education at Clarkson University, Potsdam, N.Y., he received his Masters of Science in Chemistry.

On June 6, 1970, at Calvary United Methodist Church in Mattydale, N.Y., he was united in marriage to Marjorie G. Barlow.

In 1981, he moved to Racine, Wis., and was employed by S.C. Johnson & Son for 22 years.

He cherished and loved being with his family and will be sadly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; his three daughters, Jennifer L. Martin of Racine, Wis., Christina L. Martin (fiancée, Tom Pier) of Madison, Wis., and Robin A. Martin of Racine, Wis.; his father, Leon A. Martin Sr. of Massena, N.Y.; two brothers, Leon (Paula) Martin Jr. and Robert (Marie) Martin, all of Potsdam, N.Y.; two sisters, Janie (Bruce) Stokes of Atlanta, Ga., and Catherine Yack of Huntsville, Ala.; mother-in-law, Muriel Barlow of Mattydale, N.Y.; sister-in-law, Janet (Dave) Hidinger of Schenectady, N.Y.; aunts and uncles, Varick (Catherine) Cutler of Landsdowne, Va., Elizabeth "Aunt Pete" Cutler of Massena, N.Y., Dorothy (Ig) Lacombe of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Cynthia Martin.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Racine, Wis.. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 until 7 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Susan I. Taft, 57, of Bull Run Road, Malone, died on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington, Vt.

She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Jan. 31, 1946, the daughter of Orville R. and Grace M. (Baker) Taft.

There will be no calling hours. Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

The R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh is in charge of arrangements which are incomplete.

Mindy Ann Outcalt, 36, formally of Lake Placid and a resident of Vardamin Miss., died in Mississippi, Nov. 17, 2003.

Mindy was born in Lake Placid, Aug. 13, 1967, the daughter of George (Skip) and Kim (McCalvin) Outcalt.

Friends are invited to call Friday, Nov. 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home Friday evening at 7 p.m. Rev. Mark Demers, pastor of the Adirondack Community Church will officiate. Rev. Carol Drew of the First Presbyterian Church in Saranac Lake will assist.

Arthur D, Thayer, 87, of South William Street, Malone, N.Y., died Tuesday morning, Nov. 18, 2003, at the Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone. He had been a resident at the Vale Haven Home for Adults since Oct. 11, 2003.

He was born in Chasm Falls, N.Y., April 17, 1916, the son of the late Frank and Jennie Wine Thayer.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Church in Malone. Burial will be in St. Helen's Cemetery in Chasm Falls, N.Y.

Raymond G. Lamica, 45, of John Street, Chateaugay, N.Y., died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at CVPH in Plattsburgh, N.Y.

He was born in Malone, N.Y., Oct. 2, 1958, the son of the late George and Aurelia Lamica.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Constable, N.Y., with the Rev. Francis Flynn officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service Inc., of Malone.

Brother Louis St. Pierre A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at 10 a.m. from St. John's Church in Plattsburgh for Brother Louis St. Pierre, 60, who died on Nov. 11, 2003, in Maine.
