Sylvia M. Connor

Willsboro, N.Y. — Sylvia M. Connor, 77, died Nov. 4, 2003, at Hepburn Hospital, Ogdensburg, N.Y.

She was born on Dec. 25, 1925, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., the daughter of John R. and Mabel (Olcott) Connor of Willsboro, N.Y.

She graduated from Willsboro Central School and Albany Business College. She was a member of the Willsboro United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her brother Richard and his wife Joyce of New Bern, N.C.; and a sister-in-law, Henrietta Connor of Willsboro. Also surviving her are nephews James B. Dale Jr. and Richard M. Connor Jr.; and nieces Joann Daniels, Emily Jane Dale and Wendy Burt.

A brother, Wendell, predeceased her in 1984.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, Nov. 8th, at 1 p.m. at the Huestis Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Keeseville, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Methodist of Willsboro or the Willsboro Rescue Squad.

Jason J. Carnright

Plattsburgh — Jason J. Carnright, 83, of Seneca Drive in Cumberland Head, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Newburgh on July 16, 1920, son of the late Jason and Frances (Dulsky) Carnright.

Jason retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1963. He was a bomber pilot during World War II in the European Theater of Operations and was a personnel officer until his retirement. He served at the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base from 1956 to 1960. He graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh in 1965 and received a master of library science degree from SUNY Albany in 1967. He served as Assistant to Librarian at SUNY Plattsburgh from 1965 to 1971 and as Director of Libraries at Clinton Community College from 1972 until 1985 when he retired.

Throughout his life in the North Country, at various times he served on the Board of Directors of the PAFB Federal Credit Union, the Kent-Delord House Museum and the Plattsburgh Rotary (Noon) Club. He also served on the Beekmantown School Board, the Town of Plattsburgh Planning Board, the Church Council and Trustee at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, where he was also a Minister of Communion and Lector. He was also in many professional library organizations. In Rotary he was presented with the Paul Harris Award in 1990. In later years, he was the assistant curator of the PAFB Museum from 1985 until the base closure in 1995.

Jason is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard L. Carnright of Dayton, Ohio, Michael J. and Nancy Carnright of Coraopolis, Pa., and Gregory J. and Kristin Carnright of Plattsburgh; three daughters and a son-in-law, Janice E. Carnright of Plattsburgh, Susan E. and Thomas Latinville of Plattsburgh and Deborah A. LaBombard of Plattsburgh; 12 grandchildren, Carrie A. Carnright, Jennifer S. Latinville and her fiancé Derek Fordley, Jeffrey and Theresa Latinville, Jamie and Stephanie Latinville, Jill LaBombard, Kara LaBombard, Christopher Carnright, Erica Carnright, Jessica Carnright, Brett Carnright, Brenden Carnright and Brielle Carnright; six great-grandchildren, Ryan Latinville, Lauren Latinville, Jeffrey Latinville, Marisa Latinville, Collin Latinville and Olivia Latinville; a brother and three sisters-in-law, Joseph and Mary Jane Carnright of Newburgh, Eleanor Carnright of Texas and Karen Carnright of Michigan; six sisters and four brothers-in-law, Virginia Tangal of Newburgh, Gaynell Spiller of Missouri, Carol and Raphael Van Voorhis of New Windsor, Frances and George Smith of Florida, Mary Ann and John Dwight of Florida and Joyce and John Teramo of Georgia; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great - nephews.

Jason was predeceased by his wife, Virginia L. Carnright, on Feb. 27, 2001; a son, Dennis J. Carnright in 1995; two brothers, Richard Carnright and Leonard Carnright; a sister, Dorothy Schandler; and three brothers-in-law, Bill Spiller, Frederick B. Rountree and Edward Tangal.

Calling hours will be Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at 10 a.m. from St. Mary’s of the Lake Church in Cumberland Head. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Donations in Jason’s name may be made to St. Mary’s of the Lake Memorial Fund.

Anna (Mrs. Edwidge) Dupra, 81, of Romeo Circle, Plattsburgh, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

Mary Angela Mason, 80, formerly of Plattsburgh and residing in Shelburne, Vt., passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, in Shelburne, Vt.

Calling hours will be Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, at 1 p.m. from St. John's Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Plattsburgh.

Richard E. Calkins Sr., 66, of Military Turnpike Ext., Plattsburgh, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Van Burn, N.Y., on Feb. 21, 1937.

A private graveside service was held Thursday at Whispering Maples Mausoleum in Plattsburgh.

Arrangements were with Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
