Megan M. Gordon

Cadyville — Megan M. Gordon, 18, of Goddeau Road, Cadyville, died unexpectedly Saturday night of a bacterial infection at CVPH Medical Center.

She was born on Dec. 1, 1984, in Burlington, Vt., the daughter of Thomas and Deborah (Gebhart) Gordon.

Megan was a member of the St. James Church in Cadyville. She graduated with high honors from Saranac Central High School in June 2003. Megan was a member of the National Honor Society, French Club, Band, SADD, Student Council. She also was a member of the volleyball team and the tennis team. Megan volunteered her time at the Trinity Church Soup Kitchen, the Mentally Challenged Bowl-a-thon and with the Empire State Games for the Physically Challenged.

Megan was a student at CVPH Medical Center in the Radiology Technician Program; she was looking forward to becoming an X-ray technician.

She loved all animals, especially cats.

Megan was loved by all who knew her; she will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her parents, Tom and Deborah Gordon; a sister, Susan Gordon; and one brother, David Gordon, all of Cadyville; her maternal grandmother, Patricia Gebhart of Cadyville; two uncles, Victor LePine and Robert Delaney; and a special friend of the family, Jennifer Daniels; two of Megan’s closest friends, Erin Norcross and Elli Napper; several great-aunts, uncles and many, many friends.

She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Stanley and Isabelle Gordon; maternal grandfather, Harry Gebhart; a sister, Sarah Gordon; and an aunt, Margaret Delaney.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Church in Cadyville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. A reception will be held at the Parish Center after the services.

Donation may be made to the family to establish a scholarship fund in memory of Megan M. Gordon.

John Carroll Bennett

Elizabethtown — John Carroll Bennett, 18, of Water Street, Elizabethtown, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003.

He was born in Plattsburgh, Jan. 7, 1985, the son of Joseph N. Bennett and Moreen Mitchell.

John was an avid wrestler and loved horses and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his mother and her husband, Moreen and Randy Roy of Elizabethtown; his father and his wife Joseph and Annette Bennett of Whitehall, N.Y.; his grandparents, Jessie Bennett of Monkton, Vt., and Carroll and Frances Mitchell of Westport; three sisters, Kayla Copeland, Samantha Copeland and Cassidy Roy; and one brother, Cody Roy, all of Elizabeth-town; his companion, Tenaya Trombley of Elizabeth-town; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at W.M. Marvins Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepard in Elizabethtown. Burial will follow in Brainards Forge Cemetery in Elizabethtown. A reception will be held following the committal service at the Mark and Rebeca St. Dennis residence on Osawentha Drive in Lewis.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Essex County Mental Health Association, Elizabethtown, NY 12932.

William W. Frost

Westport — William W. Frost, 86, of Main Street, Westport, died Saturday, Oct. 31, 2003, at his home.

He was born in Springfield, Mass., Oct. 24, 1917, the son of George J. and Mildred (Warren) Frost.

Mr. Frost was employed as a superintendent for Chapman Valve in Indian Orchard, Mass., for 40 years.

He was a 54 year member of the Newton Masonic Lodge in Massachusetts. He attended Camp Dudley in 1929.

He enjoyed painting, gardening and antique collecting.

Survivors include his wife, Yvonne (Flagg) Frost of Wilbraham, Mass.; one son, Dr. William Frost Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pa.; one daughter, Yvonne L. Frost of Ludlow, Mass.; one sister, Dorothy Buxton of Beverly, Mass.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 2 to 3 and 7 to 8 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Westport. Burial will be held at a later date in the Black River Cemetery in Westport.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Westport Animal Shelter.

Francis R. Welch

Plattsburgh — Mr. Francis R. Welch, 85, of Lakeview Towers, Plattsburgh, passed away Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center with his family by his side.

He was born in Chateaugay, N.Y., on April 17, 1918, the son of William and Gladys (Crawford) Welch.

Francis attended Chateaugay School. He was employed as manager of the Agway Petroleum Plant in Ellenburg and later for Ayerst for three years retiring due to ill health.

Francis enjoyed bowling and was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church.

He was predeceased by his parents, William and Gladys Welch; and his brother, Lloyd C. Welch.

Francis is survived by his wife, Margaret (Shea) Welch whom he married in 1940 at St. Patrick’s Church in Chateaugay; a daughter, Margo Peters and her husband Robert of Wall, N.J.; two grandchildren, Robert "B.J." and Shelby.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 12 noon until 1:45 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church with the Rev. Floyd "Jerry" Bleaux, Pastor, celebrating the funeral Mass. Entombment will follow at Whispering Maples Mausoleum.

John F. Conners

FORT EDWARD / PORT HENRY — John F. "Tippy" Conners, 74, of Fort Edwards, N.Y., died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, at the Moses Ludington Nursing Home, Ticonderoga.

He was born in Port Henry, N.Y., on Nov. 20, 1927, the son of James and Cora (Treadway) Connors.

He was retired from Finch & Pruyn Company, Glens Falls, N.Y.

A Naval Veteran of World War II.

Tippy was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and bowler.

Survived by his longtime companion, Bonnie Music of Fort Edward; his sons and daughters, Glenna and Michael Rodts of Morrison, Ill., Jeff and Nancy Connors of Salisbury, Md., Timothy and Mary Connors of Ticonderoga, Richard Connors of Glens Falls, N.Y.; his brothers and sisters, Regina and John Peterson of Glens Falls, N.Y., Evelyn and Ferdinand Lanzo of Port Henry, N.Y., Dorothy and Raymond Demar of Essex, N.Y., James and Patricia Connors of Crown Point, N.Y., Vera and Bruce Patnode of Willsboro, N.Y., Catherine and Francis Corbo of Essex Junctions, Vt., Beverly and Ronald Baker of Moriah, N.Y., Gerald and Karen Linney of Champlain, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his aunt, Anna (Treadway) Carpenter and husband Robert of Port Henry, N.Y.; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Beside his parents, he is predeceased by his son, John Connors.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harland Funeral Home, Port Henry. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, Port Henry. Monsignor John McAvoy officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Town of Moriah Ambulance Squad, Moriah Center, NY 12961.

Faith S. Seguin, 84, of Wilfred King Road, Ellenburg Depot, formerly of Brainardsville, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at the home of her daughter, Rosemary King, under the care of her family and Hospice of the North Country.

Arrangements are incomplete through the Chateaugay Funeral Home.
