Lindsey Albert Breed

CROWN POINT — Lindsey Albert Breed, 87, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 25, 2003. He was born at the family farm on Pearl Street in Crown Point on April 1, 1916, the son of John and Hazel (Wright) Breed.

He attended school in Crown Point and was the class valedictorian. he was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps in California in the 1930s. He worked for International Paper Co. for 30 years and retired in 1978.

Mr. Breed was predeceased by his wife, Elsie (Schwerdtfeger) Breed, his daughter, Gail Breed Chadwick, and his grandson, Todd Breed. He is survived by his son, Francis, and wife, Jean Breed; his son, John Breed; his daughter, Linda Breed Jaenisch; and his sisters, Ada Koktowski and Virginia Nadeau, all of Crown Point. He is survived by his granddaughter, Sharon Breed Hallam of Virginia; his grandsons Michael Breed and Joshua Jaenisch of Crown Point; and his great-grandsons Dalton Todd Elethorp and Jarrett Francis Elethorp of Virginia and Dominik Malaki Jaenisch of Ticonderoga, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Mr. Breed was a lifetime avid fisherman and especially enjoyed ice fishing. He was a duck hunter, a beekeeper, a mason, a dowser and historian. He was liked and respected by everyone he shared his fish, berries and stories with. He enjoyed going to local restaurants for lunch and taking care of his cats and dogs. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Calling hours will be held from 6 to 9 p.m tonight at the Harland Funeral Home, Port Henry. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Crown Point Methodist Church with the Rev. George Richards officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Crown Point. Donations in Lindsey’s memory may be made to High Peaks Hospice in Mineville.

Barbara L. Peltier

WEST CHAZY — Barbara L. Peltier, 81, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Chazy on March 11, 1922, the daughter of Ray and Mae (Sumner) Niles.

She is survived by a daughter and two sons, Mary and Robert West of Chazy, Ronald Peltier of Contoocook, N.H., and Robert Peltier of Riverview, Fla.; a sister, Jean Walters of West Chazy; four grandchildren, Barry and Neil West, Renee (Peltier) Haskins and Nicole (Peltier) Henrickson; two great-grandchildren, Julia West and Emma Mae Haskins; and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Francis W. Peltier, died on Feb. 20, 1998.

Calling hours will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30p.m. Tuesday at the O’Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 Tuesday from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Floyd J. Bleaux, pastor of Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh, officiating. Interment will follow in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Plattsburgh.

Memorial donations may be made to the Chazy Alumni Association.

EARL. P. KINVILLE, 83, of 35 Payville Lane, Saranac Lake, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid.

Born in Burlington, Vt., on April 22, 1920, he was the son of David and Mary (Perkette) Kinville.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home. A Bible vigil service will take place at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday; a veterans prayer service will immediately follow. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard’s Church in Saranac Lake with the Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake.

CHESTER L. BEEMAN, 75, of 35 Willow Way, Saranac Lake, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at Fletcher Allen Health Care Center in Burlington, Vt.

Calling hours are tentatively set for 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home, Inc. A veterans service will take place at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Following cremation, burial will be in North Elba Cemetery. A complete obituary will be available Tuesday.

AGNES S. PENFIELD, formerly of Lake Street, Rouses Point, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Verdun, Quebec, the daughter of Frederick and Caroline (Taylor) Stafford.

Calling hours will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Champlain. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Whispering Maples Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Plattsburgh.

JERRY E. DuMONT, 80, of 6 Pine St., Malone, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003.

Born June 16, 1923, he was the son of Ellis A. and Cora Shatraw DuMont.

Calling hours will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today in the St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home chapel.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Notre Dame Church with the Rev. Howard Venette officiating.

Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are through St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home, Inc.

Memorial donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Malone Food Pantry of Hospice of the North Country.
