Published: 10/17/03Ruth E. BlakePlattsburgh — Ruth E. Blake, 73, of Plattsburgh, died peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at CVPH with her family at her side after a courageous battle with heart disease. She was born in Plattsburgh on June 6, 1930, the daughter of George and Flora (Rennadette) Giguere. Ruth was a very devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was known to her family as Little Grammie, Ruthie and Gray. Ruth was also a member of Our Lady of Victory Church. She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Rickford and Teri Blake of Plattsburgh, Donald and Christine Blake from Plattsburgh, Catherine and Edmond Pellerin of Plattsburgh and Cynthia Blake, also of Plattsburgh; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Her parents; two brothers, Donald and Norman Giguere; a sister, Joyce Meeks; and her husband, Donald Benny Blake, died earlier. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the O’Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday from Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association in Ruth’s memory. Jane Beatrice (Armstrong) MooreTiconderoga — Jane Beatrice (Armstrong) Moore, 81, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at the Moses - Ludington Nursing Home of Ticonderoga. Born in Ticonderoga on Dec. 12, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Leona (Wells) Armstrong. Mrs. Moore was a resident of Ticonderoga until 1971, when she moved to Clifton Park. She returned to this area in 1994, moving to Schroon Lake. She is survived by two sons, Ronald J. Moore and his wife Claire of North Hudson and Stephen R. Moore and his wife Michele of Gardendale, Ala.; two brothers, Kenneth Armstrong of Schroon Lake and John Armstrong of Fairport; one sister, Joyce Hozley of Ticonderoga; one grandson, Richard Moore of Fort Lewis, Wash.; one granddaughter, Erin Moore of Groton, Conn.; and one great-grandson, Daulton Moore of Eagle River, Alaska. Relatives and friends may call Saturday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the Wilcox & Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. William G. Muench, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Ticonderoga, will officiate. The Rite of Committal will follow at the family plot of the Chilson Community Cemetery of Ticonderoga. Mischler, 81, of Boynton Avenue, Plattsburgh, passed away on Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at her home under the care of her devoted husband, Russell. She was born in Chazy on April 25, 1922, daughter of Bert and Gertrude (Bosley) Laramie. Lillian and her first husband, Ira Henry owned and operated Henry’s Market in Plattsburgh, the Stardust Drive-In in Plattsburgh and the Border Drive-In in Honey Mooers Comers. She was a member of St. Peter’s Church. Lillian is survived by her husband, Russell Mischler of Plattsburgh; three children, Allen Henry and his wife Louise of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Cathy Henry-Aucoin of Chazy and Cindy Henry of Chazy; six grandchildren, Nicole Henry-Jones and her husband Brian Jones of Colorado, Eric Henry of Plattsburgh, Shawn Wallace of Plattsburgh, Ashley Wallace of Plattsburgh, David Aucoin of Chazy and Travis Aucoin of Chazy; two great - grandchildren, Kelcey Jones and Bryce Jones of Colorado. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 17th, at 11 a.m. from St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Plattsburgh. Arrangements were with the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Raymond Joseph LaVoie, 65, of Station Street, Altona, died Oct. 12, 2003. He was born in Canada, Nov. 26, 1937, the son of Hermas and Mary (Decosse) LaVoie. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick’s Church with the Rev. Raymond J. Moreau officiating. Burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Chateaugay. Arrangements are with Chateaugay Funeral Home. Edward D. TEctor, 71, of Paul Smiths died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in New Hartford, Nov. 5, 1931, the son of Ralph Leo and Elizabeth (McNulty) Tector. Calling hours will be at Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke’s Church, Saranac Lake, with the Rev. Fredrick Dennis officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Paul Smiths. Ralph D. Deshane Sr., 65, of state Route 122, Constable, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, at his home while under the care of his family and Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Brasher Iron Works, N.Y., April 14, 1938, the son of the late Herbert and Lula (Henderson) Deshane. Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home in Malone. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday Notre Dame Church in Malone. Burial will be in St. John Bosco Cemetery in Malone. |
