Dean J. Vann

Morrisonville — Dean J. Vann, 34, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Plattsburgh on Nov. 28, 1968, the son of Leo and Sharon (Strack) Vann.

He worked for the N.Y.S. Department of Transportation and before that Dean worked construction. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was a devoted father and Emily and Coty were the love of his life.

He is survived by his wife, the former Pam Coty; his parents, Leo and Sharon Vann of Redford; his son, Coty; and his daughter, Emily; two brothers and a sister in law, Mark and Mary Vann of Malta and Travis Vann and his companion Vickie Gallipani of Poughkeepsie; a very special niece, Lena Vann; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ernie and Joann Coty; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chris and Rachael Coty; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the O’Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday from the Church of the Assumption in Redford. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

George Boyden

New City, NY — George Boyden, 59, of New City, N.Y., died suddenly on Monday, Oct. 6, 2003.

He was born April 24, 1944, in Leominster, Mass., the son of Norman and Blanche (Richard) Boyden.

He graduated from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, N.Y., in 1966.

George worked for many years as a senior scientist at Wyeth in Rouses Point, N.Y., moving to the company’s Pearl River facility in 1996. He recently retired after 34 years with the company.

Survivors include his wife, Frances; his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Edward Noeller of Syracuse, N.Y.; his sister, Roberta Boyden of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; his children, Bruce Boyden of Washington DC, and Rebecca Boyden of Centreville, Va.; and numerous nieces, nephews. friends and relatives.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in New City. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday in St. Augustine’s Church, in New City. Burial will follow at Brick Church Cemetery.

Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association.

Leonard M. Laporte, 81, of South River, St. Regis Falls, N.Y., died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at CVPH, in Plattsburgh, N.Y. He had been a patient there since July 6, 2003.

He was born in Chazy, N.Y., June 8, 1922, the son of the late Myrten and Matilda (Garand) Laporte.

There are no calling hours. A funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 10, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in St. Regis Falls, with the Rev. John Demo, officiating.
