Anne T. Anderson

Medford, Ore. — Anne T. Anderson, 89, of Medford, Ore., died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, at Waterford Three Fountains. The memorial Mass was held at Sacred Heart Church, officiated by Rev. Liam Carey, on Sept. 5, 2003.

She was born Anne Ruth Thompson in Hackensack, N.J., on Nov. 5, 1913. She graduated from Plattsburgh High School in 1931. Anne graduated from Plattsburgh State Teachers College in 1934 and 1962. She taught 7th, 8th and 9th grade English and social studies at Ellenville, N.Y., and Brushton-Moira Central School where she was local president of NYSUT and organizer of the credit union.

Following her retirement in 1981, Anne was instrumental in organizing the northern area of NYSUT retirees including the Champlain Valley Council of Retirees.

Anne moved to the Rogue Valley in the spring of 1986.

She enjoyed gardening, bridge, theatre arts and canning. She was an active member of Catholic Daughters, Providence Guild, Ginger Rogers Theatre, Legion of Mary, ADK, St. Vincent de Paul, Altar Rosary Society and the Friendship Club in Medford.

Survivors include her sons, William Anderson and Gordon Anderson of Northern California; daughters Anne Marie Rennells of Clovis, Calif., Katherine Reinhardt of Clovis, Calif., and Sarah Anderson of Medford; sisters Joan Duquette of Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Sue Ellen Gettens of Wilmington, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, James Anderson; sister Marie Bellinger; and brother William.

Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Daughters of Sacred Heart Church, 517 W. 10th St., Medford, OR 97501, or Saint Vincent de Paul, 2424 N. Pacific Hwy, Medford, OR 97501.

Arrangements were with the Conger-Morris Funeral Home in Medford, Ore.

Eleanor May Neil

Kingston, Ontario — Eleanor May Neil passed away peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital on Friday, Sept. 12, 2003. Beloved wife of 61 years to R. Palmerson Neil.

Predeceased by her parents, Harry J.D. Moss and Mossie (May) Moss.

Loving mother of Robert and his wife Susan Neil of Whitby, Ontario, Larry and his wife Christine Neil of Aylmer, Ontario, and Charles and his wife Dianne Neil of Chapin, S.C. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Jennifer, Jason, Heather, Jeffrey, Luke and Ross. Sadly missed by her sister Marion E. Moss of Newmarket, Ontario.

Private family interment at Riverside Cemetery, Lindsay, Ontario, on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003.

A Memorial Service will be held at Chalmers United Church, corner of Barrie and Clergy Streets, Kingston, Ontario, on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at 11 a.m.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations made to the Chalmers United Church, Piano and Organ Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Inez M. Estes

Keene — Inez M. Estes, 78, of Keene, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital in Elizabethtown.

She was born in Lewis, N.Y., on June 24, 1925, the daughter of Edwin and Greta (Dudley) Keith.

Inez and her husband Charles ran a family business, the Keene Garage, most of her married life. Following many year as deputy town clerk, she served as town clerk for the Town of Keene from Jan. 1, 1982 to Dec. 31, 1991.

She is survived by her two sons and a daughter, two daughters-in-law and a son-in-law, Edwin and his wife Sharon of Ballston Spa, N.Y., Michael and Ellen of Keene, N.Y., and Linda Roberts and her husband Wayne of Upper Jay, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Angela Estes of Saranac Lake, Tammy Wilson of Bloomingdale, Mitchell Estes of Beekmantown, Ryan Estes of Fort Stewart, Ga., and Christopher and Sarah Roberts of Upper Jay.

She was predeceased by her husband Charles; and two brothers, Arthur and Richard.

There will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass will be held Monday, Sept. 15th, at 11 a.m. at St. Brendan’s Church in Keene. Burial will be in the Norton Cemetery in Keene.

Memorial donations may be made to the Keene Rescue Squad.
