Doris B. (Bachelor) Fox

East Greenbush — Doris B. (Bachelor) Fox, 79, of Alva Street, East Greenbush, quietly passed from this life on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Flint, Mich., she had been a resident of the capital region for many years and worked as a LPN for Albany Medical Center Hospital Intensive Care Unit for 30 years, retiring in 1997.

Predeceased by her husband, James H. Fox; and a daughter, Peggy F. Huchro. Doris was also predeceased by two sisters, Beverly Carpenter and Joanne Ford; and a brother, Jack Bachelor.

She is survived by two sisters, Sondra (Gordon) Spink of Flint, Mich., and Barbara Paul of Phoenix, Ariz.; a son-in-law John F. Huchro of Rouses Point; brother-in-law, Thomas Carpenter of Lake Michigan; also survived by two grandsons, Michael J. (Lisa) Huchro of Wilton and Christopher J. (Eve) Huchro of Chazy; and two great-grandsons, Aidan and Gabriel Huchro. Doris is also survived by a wonderful group of colleagues and friends at the intensive care unit of Albany Medical Center Hospital and many close friends.

Relatives and friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, N.Y. or Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home, 146 Lake Street, Rouses Point, N.Y.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend graveside services Thursday 12 noon at the Glenwood Cemetery in Champlain.

The family has requested that contributions in her memory be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.

James K. Earl

BURKE — James K. Earl, 58, of County Route 23, Burke, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at Fletcher-Allen Health Care, Burlington, Vt.

He was born in Malone, N.Y., on March 16, 1945, the son of J. Kenneth and Bernice (McClatchie) Earl.

He was formerly married to Judy Jones.

Mr. Earl is survived by two sons, Jay Earl of Chateaugay, N.Y., and Dale "Bub" Earl of Chateaugay, N.Y.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Dale Richards of Chateaugay, N.Y. and Diane and Mark Dame of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; four grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Kay and Kenneth Fall of Chateaugay, N.Y., and Carol Wood of Burke, N.Y.

He was predeceased by his parents and a granddaughter, Monty Earl.

Mr. Earl graduated from Chateaugay Central School in 1963. He owned and operated the family dairy farm until 1986, at which time he went to work for the New York State Department of Corrections as a correction officer. He was currently serving at Bare Hill Correctional Facility, Malone, N.Y.

Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, in the Chateaugay United Methodist Church with Rev. Eleanor Bellows, officiating. Burial will take place at Eastside Cemetery, Chateaugay.

The family would like everybody to join them at the Chateaugay American Legion following the burial.

Harold E. Duprey Sr.

PLATTSBURGH — Harold E. Duprey Sr., 59, of Plattsburgh, passed away Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in Mooers on July 6, 1944, the son of Leo and Anna (Corrow) Duprey of Champlain, N.Y.

He was a farmer for most of his life. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.

He is survived by two sons, Harold E. Duprey Jr. of Plattsburgh and his companion Caroline LaValley
and Buddy Duprey of Chateaugay; two daughters, Brenda Duprey of Chateaugay and Marian Duprey and her companion Jason Aycock of West Chazy; his companion, Carolyn Hemmingway; one brother, Douglas Duprey of Mooers; five sisters, Helen Dymowski of California, Lillian Duprey of Jay, N.Y., Catherine Dupee of Champlain, Angeline Houle of Rouses Point and Florence Hansen of Champlain; three grandchildren, Jason and Justin Aycock of West Chazy and Roger Hyde of New Hampshire; also many nieces and nephews.

Harold is predeceased by his parents, Leo and Anna Duprey; his daughters, Crystal Duprey and Julie (Duprey) Hyde. His siblings, Marshall Duprey, Russell Duprey, Kenneth Duprey and Mary Deso, also predecease him.

There will be no public calling hours or funeral services.

Arrangements are with the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain.

Ermey L. Gonyo

CHAZY, NY — Ermey L. Gonyo, 52, of Hayford Road died on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at his residence.

He was born in Plattsburgh on March 8, 1951, the son of Leon Joseph Gonyo Sr. and Jean Ann (Saunders) Gonyo.

He married Rosemary "Sue" LaPier on July 22, 1978.

Mr. Gonyo owned and operated Gonyo’s Chevron in Chazy for several years. More recently he owned and operated an independent trucking operation. Mr. Gonyo was a member of Sacred Heart Church.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; two brothers, Leon J. Gonyo Jr. and Thomas E. Gonyo, both of Chazy; four sisters, Irene "Hope" A. Provost and her husband Robert L. Provost Jr. of Prince George, Va., Nancy J. Gonyo of Ellenburg Center, Mary J. Rivers and her husband Kevin Rivers of Beekmantown and Sara L. Gonyo of Chazy; his nieces and nephews, Shawn Provost, Matthew and Andrew Gonyo, Jeanmarie and Jessica Rivers and Alan Gonyo.

One brother, David, died in 1997.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Lorraine J. Manley

KEENE VALLEY — Lorraine J. Manley, 70, of Keene Valley, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at the Elizabethtown Hospital.

She was born, May 6, 1933, in Keene, N.Y., the daughter of George and Beatrice Estes.

She married Raymond Manley on Feb. 14, 1951.

Lorraine was the secretary-treasurer of Ray Manley Construction. She was a member of Jehovah’s Witness, an avid animal lover and she enjoyed her knitting.

She is survived by her husband of Keene Valley; four sons and three daughters-in-law; William R. and Kathy of San Diego, Calif., Steven A. and Sonja of McAllen of Texas, Gary D. and Carol of Keene and Michael and his fiancee, Laurie, of Gabriels, N.Y.; two daughters, Joann L. Manley and companion Keith Wolfe of Peru and Sarah A. Melville and companion Walter Perry of Keene; one sister, Louise Koval of Stockbridge, Mass.; and one brother; Tracey Estes of Keeseville, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Her parents and one great-grandchild, Faith Melville, died earlier.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at 10 a.m. at Norton Cemetery in Keene.

Memorial donations may be made to the Jehovah’s Witness or the Humane Society.

W.M. Marvin’s Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Emerson G. Rhinehart, 76, of John Street, Chateaugay, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at Alice Hyde Nursing Home, Malone, N.Y.

He was born in Chateaugay, N.Y., on Sept. 3, 1927, the son of Ray McKinley and Bertha (Cowan) Rhinehart.

Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, in the Chateaugay Funeral Home with Rev. Eleanor Bellows, officiating. Burial will take place at Earlville Cemetery, Chateaugay.

Gary E. Lautenschuetz, 55, of Saranac, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the O’Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at I p.m. Thursday from St. James Minor Church in Cadyville. Interment will follow in Independence Cemetery in Saranac.

Majorie E. Patnode, 91, of the Meadow Brook Nursing Home died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at CVPH Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 14, 1911, in Chateaugay, N.Y., the daughter of Frank and Agnes Wood Silver.

Calling hours will be from 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, in the St. Mary-Murphy Funeral Home chapel until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Thomas Davis officiating. Burial will take place in Burke Center Cemetery, Burke, N.Y.
