Linda (Bates) Inchiostro

Tucson, Ariz. — Linda (Bates) Inchiostro, 59, passed away in Tucson, Ariz., on Aug. 25, 2003.

Linda was a 1961 graduate of Plattsburgh High School and has resided in Tucson over 20 years.

A devoted mother of son Jared; she is also survived by her loving parents, Lesley and Harold Bates; a brother, Martin Bates; and a sister, Laura Burnham.

Hilda K. Relation

WEST CHAZY — Hilda K. Relation, 79, of Clark Street, West Chazy, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center.

She was born in Saranac on Oct. 26, 1923, the daughter of Ralph and Vera (Lyon) Kirk.

Hilda married Robert G. Relation on April 9, 1945 in West Chazy. Robert died on March 26, 1972.

She worked with her husband on the family farm from 1958 to 1973 and raised her family. She was a cook at Fishman’s Department Store in Plattsburgh from 1976 to 1979. She then was a cook at St. John’s Rectory fro 13 years from 1980 to 1993. Prior to her marriage, she worked at the Pal Blade Co.

Hilda was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, and formerly a member of the Altar Rosary Society and a CYO advisor at St. Joseph’s Church in West Chazy.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Larry Gonyo of Beekmantown, Frances and Gerald Defayette of Plattsburgh, and Cindy and Bill Dominy of West Chazy; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Frances Kirk, Bernice Chase and Marion Martin, and two brothers, Carl Kirk and Ross Kirk, died earlier.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Church in West Chazy. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the West Chazy Fire Department and Rescue Squad or St. Joseph’s Building and Memorial Fund.

JAMES EARL, 58, of Burke, died Sept. 7, 2003, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Chateaugay Funeral Home. A complete obituary will be published in Tuesday’s newspaper.
