Mesa, Ariz. — Mrs. Helen L. Ryan, 98, formerly of Holland Avenue, Plattsburgh, passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at the Hospice of the Valley in Mesa, Ariz.

She was born in Plattsburgh on Dec. 11, 1904, the daughter of Frederick and Emma (Hogue) LaBombard. Helen was a member of the First Friday Club, St. John's Church and the Rosary and Altar Society of St. John's Church.

She was predeceased by her husband, George W. Ryan, who died in 1953.

Helen is survived by one daughter, Judith "Jody" El Reedy of Mesa, Ariz.; a grandson, Jamil Omar El Reedy of Dallas, Texas; her granddaughters, Anna El Reedy of Burlington, Vt., and Klara El Reedy, also of Mesa; five great - grandchildren, John, Gina, Dina, Jessie and Amber; and several nieces and nephews.

At Helen's request, there will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, at 2 p.m. at St. John's Church in Plattsburgh. Interment will follow in the family plot at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Harold E. Duprey Sr., 59, of Plattsburgh, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced by the Clark Funeral Home in Champlain.
