Doris A. Harriman

Churubusco — Doris A. Harriman, 58, of State Rt. 189, Churubusco, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, at Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone, N.Y.

She was born in Albany, N,Y., on Sept. 23, 1944, the daughter of Archie and Olive (Van Wee) Martell.

She was married to Richard Harriman Sr. on May 5, 1962, in Latham, N.Y.

Mrs. Harriman is survived by her husband of 41 years; four sons, Richard "Skip" Harriman Jr. of Plattsburgh, N.Y., Paul William Harriman Sr. of Ellenburg Depot, N.Y., James J. Harriman of Lisbon, Maine, and Daniel Edward Harriman of West Chazy, N.Y.; a daughter, Rebecca Mae Bentley of Churubusco, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; two brothers; and a sister.

She was predeceased by her parents; and a daughter, Bambi Lynn Harriman, in infancy; and a brother.

Mrs. Harriman was born and raised in the Albany Capital District, moving to the North Country with her family in 1982 to make her home. She served as a sales representative for the Tupper Ware Company for over 20 years.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, in the Chateaugay Funeral Home.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Churubusco Fire Department.

Gerald C. Aubrey

Palm Bay, Fla. — Gerald C. (Donald) Aubrey, 78, of 1250 Joy Ct., NE, Palm Bay, Fla., formerly of Rouses Point, died on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at the Mariner Health of Atlantic Shores Nursing Home in Palm Bay.

He was born in Plattsburgh on Oct. 22, 1924, the son of Clement and Laura (Anthony) Aubrey.

Mr. Aubrey retired from the Albany, N.Y., police department after 27 years of service. He enjoyed traveling, playing golf and deep sea fishing.

He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942 - 1945. Seaman First Class Aubrey served in the Pacific on the USS Edwards and the USS Twining, under the command of Admiral "Bulldog" Halsey. He received 11 battle stars.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Dorothy Frechette; a son, Bobby of Arizona; a brother, Robert (Bob) Aubrey and his wife, Mary Ellen; two sisters, Bernice Sanchagrin and Carol Manor; one sister-in-law, Ethel of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, Herman (Sonny) Aubrey.

Arrangements are with the Fountain Head Memorial Park Funeral Home in Palm Bay.

Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country.

James J. Barry, 86, died Aug. 28, 2003, at Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid.

He was born in Lake Placid on Jan. 28, 1917, the son of William and Harriet (Haskins) Barry.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, Aug. 29th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid. An American Legion prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m., followed by a Bible vigil service. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid. Rev. Patrick O’Reilly, pastor of Uihlein Mercy Center Chapel, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery.

David Bickford, 83, of Averyville Road, Lake Placid, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, at the Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

He was born in Childwood on Jan. 9, 1920, the son of Guy and Nancy (Winch) Bickford.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, Aug. 29th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Lake Placid. An American Legion prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Lake Placid. Rev. Douglas Cox, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the North Elba Cemetery.

David A. Sherman, 45, of West Chazy, N.Y., died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

He was born in St. Johnsbury, Vt., on June 3, 1958, the son of Harry and Phyllis (Paradie) Sherman.

Funeral services were held at the Pillsbury Funeral Homes in Lisbon, N.H., on Aug. 23, 2003. Burial followed in the Grove Hill Cemetery in Lisbon, N.H.

Edward J. LaFountain JR., 70, formerly of Morrisonville, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, in Tampa, Fla.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
