Published: 08/22/03Bertha M. LeClairEllenburg Depot — Bertha M. LeClair, 78, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt. She was born in Ellenburg on Dec. 19, 1924, the daughter of William and Roxie (Sharrow) Malark. She was a member of St. Edmund's Church in Ellenburg and was a former vice president of the Altar-Rosary Society and was a former secretary of the Court Little Rose 1300, Catholic Daughters of America. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Lawrence LeClair of Ellenburg and James and Rose LeClair of South Hero, Vt.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Geraldine and Leeward Caron of Plattsburgh, Mary and Larry White of Mooers, Theresa and Bernard Bosley of Sciota and Linda and Malcolm Garrand of Mooers; three brothers, Russell and Marie Malark of Buffalo, Richard and Ruth Malark of Dover Plains and Vernon and Beverly Malark of Dannemora; six sisters and three brothers-in-law, Joanne Malark of Ellenburg, Theresa Carter of Ellenburg Center, Jeneane Chadt of Buffalo, Yvonne and Ronnie LaBarge of Forest, Mary and Harold LaBarge of Forest and Bernadette and Mark Mercer of Plattsburgh; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Herbert F. LeClair, died in 2002. Two brothers, Gerald and Tony Malark and a sister, Veronica Patnode, also died earlier. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the E.F. Drown Funeral Service in Ellenburg Depot. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday from St. Edmund’s Church in Ellenburg. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Larrabee-Parrish, 79, of Salmon River Road, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. She was born in Lyon Mountain on Feb. 15, 1924, daughter of William and Emma (Tatro) LaMountain. Dorothy attended school in Lyon Mountain. She was a founder of the 7th Day Adventist Church in Plattsburgh and she was the founder and leader of Dottie and the Golden Notes for over 20 years; she enjoyed bowling and sewing. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Joseph C. Parrish of Plattsburgh; a son, Leaf Larrabee of High Banks; a brother, Emile LaMountain and his wife Winnie of East Taunton, Mass.; a sister, Delores Gadway of White River Junction, Vt.; a foster son, Glen Martin of Plattsburgh; four stepsons, Todd Parrish of Plattsburgh, Joey Parrish of South Carolina, John Parrish of New Jersey and Doug Parrish of New York City; four grandchildren, Marsha Harden and Allen of Oklahoma, Judy Manzelmann and David of Utica, Tonya Larrabee of High Banks and Erica Larrabee of High Banks; five great-grandchildren, Andrew Harden, Jacob and Matthew Manzelmann, Samantha Larrabee and Natasha Ray; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will be held Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m. at 7th Day Adventist Church on Route 22 South in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh. Genevieve S. CalkinsPlattsburgh — Genevieve S. "Stella" Calkins, 86, formerly of Peru, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. She was born in Plattsburgh on March 22, 1917, daughter of the late Arthur and Jennie (St. Denis) Garrant. She was a member of St. Augustine's Church in Peru and had been employed at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Genevieve loved to play cards and enjoyed music. Genevieve is survived by a daughter, Patricia Gero and her husband Joseph of Cadyville; her daughter-in- law, Carol Calkins of Keeseville; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Genevieve was predeceased by her husband, Halsey J. Calkins; her son, James Calkins; a daughter, Theresa Kilgore; and her parents. Calling hours will be Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at 10 a.m. from St. Augustine's Church in Peru. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh. Florence May Mulligan, 84, of 30 Charles St., Saranac Lake, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at Adirondack Medical Center. Calling hours will be held at the Fortune - Keough Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Bible vigil service will take place on Friday evening at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at St. Bernard's Church with Rev. Bryan Stitt officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery in Saranac Lake. Raymond J. King, 77, of Malone, died on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington, Vt., after a short illness. He was born in Chateaugay, N.Y., on April 7, 1926, the son of Albert and Eileen (Patnode) King. Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Friday, Aug. 22 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23 in St. Joseph's Church, Malone. Burial will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lake Titus Road, Malone. Eleanor V. LaBombard, 81, of Swanton, Vt., died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at the Northwestern Medical Center in Saint Albans, Vt. She was born Sept. 13, 1921, in East Fairfield, Vt., the daughter of the late John and Mae (Messier) Hemond. There will be no public calling hours. A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, in Maple Hill Cemetery in Rouses Point. Arrangements are with the Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point. |
