Ida B. Giddings

Keeseville — Ida B. Giddings, 84, of Keeseville Country Gardens, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in AuSable Chasm, Oct. 28, 1918, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Thompson) Giddings.

Ida was employed for 16 years at Beemer's Office Supply in Plattsburgh and also worked at the Comer Bookstore for 18 years.

She was a member of the Keeseville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one brother, Ralph Baggs of Peru; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sisters, Florence Giddings and Catherine Rock; and brothers, Charles Giddings, Karl Giddings and James Thompson.

Calling hours will be held Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the AuSable Chasm Cemetery.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Keeseville United Methodist Church.

Laurence Joyall

Dannemora — Laurence Joyall, 96, died Monday evening, Aug. 18, 2003, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility in Plattsburgh.

She was born in St. Chrysostome, Quebec, on Jan. 7, 1907, the daughter of Honore and Ida (Mathieu) Boileau.

Laurence married her husband Felix on Nov. 21, 1931, at St Joseph's Church in Dannemora. They built their home in 1933. She belonged to St. Joseph's Church for over 70 years and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years.

A homemaker, Laurence enjoyed gardening and all outdoor activities, especially fishing with her husband.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Felix died April 13, 1994. Her parents; two sisters; and two brothers died before her.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 a.m. from St Joseph's Church in Dannemora.

Donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Hospital or to the charity of your choice.

Maurice J. Belzile

Willsboro, N.Y. — Maurice J. Belzile, 78, of the Middle Road, Willsboro, died Tuesday Aug. 19, 2003, at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital after a long illness.

He was born in Amqui, Quebec, Canada, May 8, 1925, the son of Joseph and Marie (Michaud) Belzile.

Mr. Belzile moved to the United States 56 years ago and for many years he was a member of the Plattsburgh Carpenters Union and worked as a mill wright as well as a carpenter. In his younger years he worked as a logger. He was a member of St. Philip's of Jesus Catholic Church, Willsboro, the Willsboro Knights of Columbus, the Keeseville Elks 2072 and the Carpenters Union Local 229.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Sayward Belzile; a daughter and her husband, Ghislaine and Donald Shedd of Warrensburg; brothers and one sister, Roger and Lucy Belzile of Willsboro, Robert Belzile of Amqui, Quebec, Jean Yves LeVesque of PEI, Canada, Therese and Conrad Robin of Quebec City, Quebec; one granddaughter and her husband, Nicole and William Oehler of Warrensburg; two great-grandchildren, Victoria and Lane of Warrensburg; one stepdaughter and four stepsons, MaryAnn Williamson and George, Lawrence, Rick and Peter Sayward; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Marie Anna (Bergeron); his son, Jean Yves Belzile; and three brothers, Norman, Andy and Yvon.

Calling hours will be held at the Huestis Funeral Home in Willsboro, Thursday, Aug. 21, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. An Elks service will be held at 7:30 p.m. and a Knights service will be held at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Philip's Church at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations in his memory be made to High Peaks Hospice, P.O. Box 195, Mineville, NY 12956 or the Willsboro Rescue Squad.

Kathleen Sheehan

Willsboro, N.Y. — Kathleen "Sis" Sheehan, 66, died yesterday, August 19, 2003, at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital of kidney failure following several years of deteriorating health.

She was born May 11, 1937, the only daughter of Thomas and Ella Sheehan of Willsboro.

She graduated from Willsboro School and Mildred Elly Secretarial School and was employed for many years with General Electric and the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles.

She is survived by a brother, Thomas; two sisters-in-law; two nieces; and five nephews.

Visiting hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Huestis Funeral Home in Willsboro on Friday, Aug. 22, with funeral services on Saturday, at 10 a.m. at St. Philip of Jesus Church, Willsboro.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Keene Valley Neighborhood House, where Sis happily spent her last years.

Gladys Gelineault

Essex Junction, VT — Gladys Gelineault, 89, formerly of Rouses Point passed away Friday, Aug. 18, 2003, at the home of her daughter.

She was born April 17, 1914, in Burlington, Vt., the daughter of the late Frank and Evelyn (Barcomb) Strong.

Her husband, Eddie Gelineault, who passed away Aug. 18, 2001, predeceases Gladys.

Survivors include one son, Eddie Gelineault Jr. and his wife Karen of Rouses Point; one daughter, Shirley Tortorella and her husband John of Essex Junction, Vt.; one sister, Hazel Piktalis of Worcester, Mass.; four grandchildren, Michael Tortorella, Maryann LaMarche, Bryon Gelineault and Carrie Dumas; as well as nine great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Clark Funeral Home in Rouses Point. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at St. Patrick's Church in Rouses Point at 11 a.m.
