George A. Desotelle Sr.

Keeseville — George A. Desotelle Sr., of Keeseville died Monday, July 28, 2003, at CVPH Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was 82.

He was born in Springfield, Mass. and eventually moved to Plattsburgh.

He graduated from Plattsburgh High School. He served in the Army Air Corps, 44th Bomb Group, 68th Squadron as a Tailgunner in B-24 bombers. He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Keeseville and served his church as a lector and an usher.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, the former Marion Brelia of Keeseville; a son, George Desotelle Jr. of Keeseville, a daughter; Mary Fowler of Keeseville; a son, Joseph of Williamsville; a son, Stephen of Plattsburgh, a son; Paul of Keeseville; a daughter, Ann of East Amherst; a son, John of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Calling hours will be held at Hamilton Funeral Home in Keeseville on Wednesday, July 30, 2003, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church on Thursday, July 31, 2003, at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, please remit donations to The HK Freidman Renal Center in Plattsburgh, N.Y.

Ruth Opal MacDougal

Mineville — Ruth Opal (Stone) MacDougal, 69, previously residing on Curtis Street, Mineville, N.Y., passed away Sunday, July 27, 2003, at the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home where she has been residing since the fatal car accident she was involved in on Sept. 8, 1999.

She was born April 25, 1934, in Altona, N.Y., the daughter of Mabel (Sorrell) and Frank Stone.

She worked as an in-home health care provider for many years. Along with enjoying spending time with her sisters, brothers, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she enjoyed crocheting, reading, puzzles and cooking for her large family. Her kindness and understanding ways will never be forgotten.

She is survived by her nine children and their spouses, Bill and wife Rachel of Witherbee, Deno and companion Chris of Missouri, Gerald and wife Susan of South Troy, N.Y., her only daughter, Diane Bombard of Crown Point, N.Y., James and companion Gail Goodspeed of Hinesburg, Vt., Harley and wife Robin from Wadhams, N.Y., Rayshel and wife Theresa from Crown Point, N.Y., Dale and wife Sharon from Reber, N.Y., and Ranger and wife Nicole from Waterford, N.Y. She has 38 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Her surviving sisters are, Vernice Sorrell of Plattsburgh, N.Y., Shirley and husband Tom Lamere of Elizabethtown, Martha and husband Bruce Lacey of Willsboro, Melvina (Rina) and husband Red Perry of Fort Plains, N.Y., Dorothy and husband Ken Lamere of Fort Collins, Colo.; brothers, Jule and wife Ruth of West Chazy, Joe of Westville, N.Y., and Minas of Brushton, N.Y.; and a very close and dear friend Joyce Harris Savado of Hemmingford, Quebec.

She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Mabel Stone, her sisters, Mary Mell, Gladys Quinn and Bertha Pulsifer; a grandson Leo MacDougal; and a long time companion, Bryon Harris of Hemmingford, Quebec.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2003 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at W.M. Marvins Sons Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at 10 a.m. at the Church of All Saints in Mineville, N.Y.

Donations in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205.

Charles J. Rabideau Jr., 52, of Morrisonville, died Monday, July 28, 2003, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

Arrangements were incomplete Monday evening at the O'Neill-Redden-Drown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
